It was 30 years ago that our team was last in a Super Bowl. In my wildest dreams, I would have never thought that was going to be Dan The Man's only trip there. We haven't won a playoff game since the turn of the century in 2000, and have not been in the playoffs in 5 years.

I am not a big fan of Philbin or Hicky but, have to wish them all the best in doing something this year. If not, we are looking at another 3 year process, and I don't know that I can deal with that one more time. I'm really tired of trying to be optomistic year, after year, after, year, etc.

I'm almost missing picking on JJ and Wanny for not bringing us to the next level, at least there was a next level.

Anyone else feeling the same?

Beating the Pats week one, would sure be a nice start to the Philbin/Hickey era..

I do like the way the team has won games early in the season. The poor starts before Philbin made it very difficult to have any chance of making the playoffs.

I think the opportunity will be there for Miami to start 1-0 with things that will favor Miami:

*In Miami (weather)
*No Gronk
*New Offense in Miami for Pat's Defense to figure out.
*New Pass-rusher for Pat's Offense to figure out.
*New Running option Pats will have to respect.
*Tannehill will no longer be forced to stay in the pocket as 1st 2 years.
*Even more passing options for Miami then the Pats saw when Miami beat then last year.

Then again:

*Miami will be going against a Brady lead, Belichick coached team.
*How much better will the O-line be from last year, will it even be better?
*For the 1st time since A&M, Tannehill will be running different offense.
*How successful will Lazor be at O-coordinator?
*Will the Refs again get a memo like they did in N.E last year.

Has that been confirmed yet, or is that speculation?

It's still speculation.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL sustained on Dec. 8, deflected a question Tuesday about whether he will be ready for the 2014 season opener.

"Oh man, that's too far away. I'm just improving every day right now," Gronkowski said Tuesday on the "Hill-Man Show" on WAAF-FM. "I'm working hard every day to put myself in the best situation so that I'm ready."

Gronkowski had surgery on Jan. 9, with the procedure performed by Dr. James Andrews. He waited one month after the injury to undergo surgery so that his MCL, which also was torn, could heal.

Yes, so far speculation, no real confirmation, but it is the Patriots, so him suiting up week 1 should not surprise anyone. On the other hand, even if he's ready to go, it will be doubtful that they take a chance of losing him for the rest of the year, just to get him out there against the Dolphins.

The first game...anything can happen. The patriots usually drop an early season game or two before getting on a roll. I like our chances.

Being it's the Pats we probably we won't know for sure until until September 7th 1:00,
