Not sure if or when that's ever happened before. I'm sure it has, but I bet it's relatively rare.
 
Now is it because of a good draft? Or because the FO is too proud...
 
Wilson, Pouncey, Clay, Gates, Thomas have shown us a little something something. Kearse is the only one that I don't think looks like he's worth anything yet but it's not a bad idea to keep him another year and see if he develops into a good rotational guy.

I don't think cutting a 7th-round pick, for example, is going to be perceived as a huge mistake. Nobody's going to want to lynch them for that.

The more likely explanation is that the players are indeed good enough.

Well Spitler WAS cut, but was resigned a week or 2 later when the Bobby Carpenter experiment failed. Hilliard was also cut during training camp is rookie year and worked his *** off to become good at ST to make the team the next year.

I'd say everybody in this class earned their spot though

yeah for the most part
i don't think Thomas is playing up to his draft status though the potential is there
you can see it when daniel catches a pass he looks like a completely different back
seems more sure of himself catching which is a pleasant surprise..

jimmy wilson earned it as much as im gripping about letting will allen walk
im still not sold on the versatile clay sometimes players like these can do a lot of things
but don't excel in any of them..

if will allen or lj come back with cheaper contracts after game 1 id be thrilled

I think they like the guys they drafted this year. I dont think guys who's jobs are on the line would be too proud.

The philosophy to me seems to be draft guys that will fit our system and stick with youth over aged vet if all things equal....or special teams added value.

its still early though.

One thing about this FO they will not live with a mistake, ask all the high priced FA they signed and cut....Draft picks should be given more than 1 summer to make an impression, unless they dont show any reason to keep them......this FO does an above average in drafting.
