Taking a breather from the Manning situation, I was sitting here thinking about who we could target in FA to upgrade our pass-rush, and then I realized that pretty much every potential target is now off the market except Mario Williams and john abraham but we cant afford them, avril is gone, mathis is gone, anthony spencer is gone, calias campbell is gone, Wimbley might be available and so might Dwight Freeny, so those could be 2 other options, we could also look at mark anderson or andre carter, but with all the major pass-rushers off the market shouldn't we target a pass-rusher in the 1st round? Melvin Ingram seems like a real good fit, but it is a position we desperately need to address.

If Quinton Coples falls to 8, you take him. Top choice without question, as he can step in right away and be productive. High motor, nasty streak, and is versatile enough to play LE in a 4-3 or LE in a 3-4.

I don't think I would take Coples. Id rather have ingram. It all depends who falls.

What games were you watching? He packed it in for much of the year and didn't play nearly as hard or effectively as he did in his junior campaign. To me, his motor is his biggest red flag. Not only do i think Coples will fall to 8, i think he will fall past 8.

I would look to fix the pass rush immediately with free agency and take a guy later (I REALLY like Shea McClellin....watch him against Cordy Glenn). Other guys i like are Julian Miller, Malik Jackson, and Cam Johnson. I wouldn't be against the idea of putting Fletcher Cox or Kendall Reyes at DE either...but big guys who can move.

If we get Manning, then you have to ask yourself what's going to be the bigger hurdle in us getting deep into the playoffs.  Keeping Manning upright or pass rush?  The answer to that question will be our first round pick.
