This got me thinking, we will have to literally cut Wheeler, Ellerbe, Fields, Wallace and Starks. Suh would only replace Starks/Odrick and pair up with Mitchell with Anthony Johnson and AJ Francis as back ups.

LBs would be Misi, Jenkins and ??? Draft pick or Jordan? or J. Tripp?

Fields can be replaced cheap, so him im not worried about.

Now my question is this, should we go all in for Suh and create a hole at #1 WR, P, ILB, and limit who else we can sign, OR
go after multiple players for much less and still cut the aforementioned players and still bring in 3/4 FAs to help us?

Maybe get a DT like Knighton or Dan Williams, along with ILB Mason Foster/ David Harris, and a vet CB?

Just wondering your opinion...

You wouldn't have to make all of those cuts...but cutting Starks and letting Odrick Walk should be enough

This potential signing makes me very nervous. I love the player but will I still love the player after he gets that fat contract and ends up being Albert Haynesworth? This is one of those signing that could propel a team or set it back 3-4 years because of that albatross of a contract. Just not sure about it.

Ellerbe and Wheeler are goners. Considering how they perform we're better off seeing what Tripp and McCain have to offer and draft a ilb.

He was already making bank under the old CBA from his rookie contract..

Suh doesn't seem wired that way....has played at an elite level for all his years in the NFL...not just in a contract year...

good point. Still makes me very nervous to tie up so much cash on one player. If its in his contract to stomp on Brady's balls once per season then I'm all in.

He will give that move for free...

We need a player like Suh....and we need to get rid of the overpaid....its not a huge problem paying a couple of dominant players.

The key is drafting well so that you can keep reloading to replace the average type players like Odrick....so that you don't overpay them...and can afford a dominant player like Suh.

If we can afford to get Suh, I feel we should make every attempt to do so. It's not very often that a dominant player in the prime of his career hits FA. Getting Suh would help the rest of our defense out sooo much. To my knowledge, Suh brings no off field issues, he's just extremely aggressive on the field. Him on our defense would make our defense nasty, plus it'd take pressure off Wake as others have said. So if we can get him, I say do it.

It's risky but it's been so long since we had an elite player like that so I hope we get him

Ozzy rules!!

This got me thinking, we will have to literally cut Wheeler

Let's do this

Tripp was looking like a real deal before his injury.

And McCain? He had a holy crap, did you see that play in almost every game he was in.

Tripp and McCain are the answers sitting right in our locker room. Suh should be an all in, ain't leaving miami without a deal priority. Draft Trey Waynes should he fall or get another stud DT to pair Suh with like Sheldon or my fav, Malcolm Brown. Suh and Brown neutralize rb on any team and crash pockets eating qb's for snacks!! The upper tear teams and top defenses have that great inside pair.

But, going Suh and put a sure fire star at cb with the first pic would get this defense hummin'!! We have not one player that is even close to being top 3 at his position and Suh is arguably top 2. We have no difference makers. Mike Wallace would be but tanny stifles a good part of his game. No one on this team has to be game planned for.

That has to change and Suh is a hell of a start!! Its time for QUALITY and not QUANTITY off season moves and draft.

Its too early to just annoit Tripp and McCain IMO. There is hope like there is with CB position but thats about it.

Or when he gets a suspension for stepping on a players leg, or all the personal fouls he draws for cheap shots?
