All this talk of renaming the stadium, and additions...

...makes me bummed that its going to be a long while before the Dolphins get a new stadium. Its a fun place to watch a game, but while watching the "Top 10 Homefield Advantages", of course the OB made the list. The way the stadium is constructed takes away that noise advantage. The seats are also way too far away. Heres to hoping that one day, we get a better stadium, with a CONSISTENT name too. :rolleyes2:

You know what, in general I love our stadium, but when the Marlins get their stadium built and DS (or whatever it will be called at that time) is used for football only, they need to do a few things to make it more football-like. Instead of the "multi-sports complex" BS of before.

Change #1 should absolutely be to add another 10 (or however many can fit) rows of seats on each sideline to make the fans closer to the field.

It should be named after Joe Robbie because it was Joe Robbie's big mistake. Someone in the Landshark thread properly summarized: boring and sterile.

I'm continually amazed we nitpick over personnel decisions when the biggest problem of this franchise is the stadium. It's a glorified neutral site and that is increasingly true due to fan abandonment during the third quarter.

It's one of those truths that will be denied and downplayed for decades, here and everywhere, until the replacement venue is finally needed and constructed. Then suddenly it will be okay to concede and shout the inadequacies of Dolphin Stadium, or whatever it's labeled.

The location isn't as big of a problem because its not like driving through rush hour for a 1:05 game. It sucks its so far from Miami, but I'll deal with it. The stadium itself is as you said, a lame multi-purpose ballpark. Isn't Dolphins Stadium along with Oakland the last multi-purpose monstrosities left? I hope Ross decides in the next decade to prepare a new stadium, closer to Miami, and with closer seating. ****, rebuild the Orange Bowl.

Oakland's would be good as a baseball-only place if they got rid of Mount Davis.

Candlestick Park is sort of a psuedo-multi-use stadium too.

i dont know if the biggest problem right now is our stadium. Thats taking it a little too far. How about we focus on the players that we need to get wins with our brutal schedule this year...

4-12, 6-10, 1-15 really hurt the crowd noise too.

Boring and sterile huh?? Yeah, maybe if you're deaf / and blind....:rolleyes2:

I'm hoping this was just sarcasm....:err:

So you think building a new stadium is going to keep the fans from leaving the games early???...

It's one of those truths that will be denied and downplayed for decades, here and everywhere, until the replacement venue is finally needed and constructed.

That's not a truth, that's just an opinion. As for a replacement venue, we don't need one. "Landshark Stadium" is fine the way it is...

Then suddenly it will be okay to concede and shout the inadequacies of Dolphin Stadium, or whatever it's labeled.

There are no real inadequacies. "Landshark Stadium" is a great place to go and watch a football game. There's not a bad seat in the place, and it has more than enough vending to satisfy anyone...

You want stadiums with inadequacies?? Try going to watch a football game in San Diego / San Fran / or Oakland. Now there's a group of horrible, rundown, old as dirt stadiums. Enjoy!!...:chuckle:

IN TUNA WE TRUST....

I still have yet to understand what bearing the name of a stadium has to wins and losses. The Bears were both good and terrible at Soldier fields, same with the PAckers and Lambeau. Rational thought dictates that the name doesn't mean jack...Except maybe not having to pay for PSLs

Eh. I know it has nothing to do with personnel decisions, but the Dolphins went to 5 Super Bowls while at the OB. 0 at the whateverwellcallit.

This is not the fault of the stadium but rather the nature of the people in South Florida. There is fewer "home-grown" people here than most cities around the country. we have a lot transplants creating a sort of hodge-podge type population. It just so happens that most of our transplants come from the great white north or the lands of our division rivals......and finally as soon as the Marlins are out i def. think more seats will be added to each sideline.

Guys it's all about winning. Winning solves everything. No one cares where you win or what you're named when you win.

Most here want this thing ran like a Madden football team when in reality, this isn't possible intoday's corporate world. The Dolphins ABSOLUTELY benefit from a corporate sponsor. And I'm all about it.

Here's to Landshark Stadium...

I wish that we would've never left the Orange Bowl and they completely refurbished the OB. That stadium was our history and our mystique!!!!

The Orange Bowl would've been a huge pain in the *** for Broward and PB fans though.
