now let me preface this by saying at this point Tannehill probably is the best route to go....there's only one problem....

WE'RE NOT GUARANTEED TO GET HIM!!!!!

hello? are you guys paying attention? Cleveland picks 4th, they need a QB just as bad as we do. if they take him, then what do we do?

this is where those meaningless losses in the 2nd half of the season are coming back to bite us in the ass, the same fans who are disappointed that we're whiffing on all these QBs are probably the same myopic fans who said "i want to win this meaningless week 14 game, lets worry about the draft and our position to finally acquire a franchise QB later!"

well guess what, 6 wins not only took us out of the running for Luck and RG3, but now we might not even be able to get the 3rd best prospect in the draft...unless we trade up. and even then we're at a disadvantage, browns would only have to move up 1 spot to secure Tannehill, minnesota would definitely rather take #4 and a 2nd rounder from CLE than #8 and a 2nd rounder from us. and we're not gonna win a bidding war against Cleveland if they feel like Tannehill is their last chance at a franchise QB, especially when they just got outbid by Wash for RG3.

bottom line is there is no simple route to go, meaningless wins late in the year + an inept front office = everything becoming a huge obstacle.

No team should throw games for any reason. If you're saying the team was wrong for trying to win game instead of playing to lose I disagree.

at this point, we should let moore start and draft either cousins or weeden.

Pretty much . . . sure if they would of lost those games we would be in a better spot to get a potential franchise QB . . . but I can't sit up here an say the team trying to win games is something for me to get upset about. That is dumb talk that continues to be used as philosophy by people on this board.

OMG, this again. Different day, same thread about meaningless wins

Cleveland could take Trent Richardson, they need a RB too. Tannehill might be a reach at #4.

you wouldn't trade 6-10 for 2-14 RIGHT NOW? We'd be sitting pretty with the #2 pick, RG3 is probably the only QB who would WANT to play for this joke of a franchise lol

They do have a 2nd first round pick . . . but yea they have a gaping hole at RB and Trent is the best prospect since AP. Seems to fit, although I'm sure many people feel that RB is a reach at that point. They need another WR too.

Cleveland is one team that is in worse shape than us on offense.

I agree with KDog and gregorygrant - anyone that has competed in their lives - especially ones getting paid for their services will not throw games to try to lose them. If there are professional players that would do that I dont want them on my team. You think Dansby, Long, Bush, or even the enigmatic Marshall et al., even think about future draft position instead of trying to score or keep someone from scoring? Aint happening? Kinda lets you know the type of bozos that reign on this blog page, and why it is so painful, at times, to come here for information.

I think we try to trade down for Weedon or Tannehill, preferably Weedon.

OF COURSE HE'S A REACH AT 4! but guess what, so was Jake Locker at 8 last year, and Ponder at 12. With the new rookie wage scale, these top picks are cheaper than before, you're going to see more and more reaches. And who cares if it's a reach, Cleveland isn't stupid, they know if they pass on him he's probably going #8 to Miami. IIF they want him, key word being if, they will have no problem using the 4th pick to take him.
