If this is indeed the end of Allen Iverson's playing career, it's a damn shame to see what has been a Hall of Fame career end the way it has, with Iverson skipping out on the one team who actually wanted him in the post-season when he was available-- in just three games.

Oh cut the BS Allen.

We in here talkin bout..UNEMPLOYMENT. Not retirement, not retirement. Unemployment.

Youre supposed to be franchise player, but no one wants to sign your ***, so we in here talkin bout Unemployment.

How is bein unemployed supposed to make any teammates better?

Bad end to a great career. I suspect he'll be back though. If the Sixers were smart, they'd sign him especially with Lou Williams to miss time with a broken jaw. Sixers are dead last in attendance, Philly needs Iverson, and Iverson needs Philly. Of course Ed Snider is an idiot and won't do it though.

Personally, AI should consider a career overseas. He could get paid a lot of money and be a star in Greece or Italy, and get all the playing time he wants.

That'd be sweet to see him in a Sixers uni again.
I agree. And honestly, the Sixers need Iverson as much as Iverson needs the Sixers. With Lou Williams playing at such a high level, it only figures he breaks his jaw and is out for 2 months with the luck we have had. Iverson will start. Holliday is a rookie who isn't ready to start just yet, and Ivey sucks, there's no other option. Call me crazy but I think Iverson can easily still be a 20 PPG type of player. With Brand starting to show sings of why we signed him, and Thad finally finding his shot, not to mention Sam playing great, if AI can somehow help us land a playoff spot, 8th seed is fine, when Speights and Lou get back, we could be a team to watch out for. Wishful thinking of course, Eddie Jordan is clueless. But the talent is certainly there.

Not to mention it's embarassing to have such a storied franchise be dead last in attendance this year. AI back in Philly will sell tickets, that's for sure.

I was just about to say, that signing him would bring in alot of ticket sales...and during a down year, ticket sales are something you want to shoot for.

Iverson can easily average 20 ppg. The only problem is that he take 20 shots a game to do so. Its a move that reeks of desperation and I find it hard to believe that its something Jordan signed off on. You just have to hope he doesn't do too much damage to the youngster off the court.....we've seen the havoc he can cause with impressionable youth before.

Jordan is a guards guy. Iverson is his type of guy. I'm willing to bet he's happier than a pig in **** today. I'm going to be optimistic about this situation though. With Iverson, I'd say we could fight our way to a an 8th seed, 7th seed at best. With the way Thad, Brand, and Sam has been playing, and the way Lou and Speights were playing, I think we could be a pretty good team when we get healthy again. I'm just glad to see AI in a sixers uni, and really could give 2 ****s about anything else at the moment . Monday can't get here soon enough.
