Who is in the lead right now for the nickel spot? Allen had a nice safety on the blitz yesterday nullified by the JT penalty. Play really would have changed the whole game around. I didn't see much of Sapp yesterday but he was all over the field the first two games and I've been a fan of him since he came here.

This may be the toughest call we have right now (aside from fixing the whole o-line). I hope we can keep both rostered, but maybe Sapp can fetch something in a trade if Allen truly is healthy.

Thoughts?

At this point, I'd still go with Sapp. Just don't trust Allen's health to give him the keys.

I agree with you, unless we could get a decent o-lineman for Sapp. But thats probably not likely to happen.

Why anyone still wants Allen on this team baffles me.

I must baffle you then. I think he is an excellent player and would help the development of Smith and Davis. I think he is money on the CB blitz and actually holds an interception.

His salary and health will end up getting him cut, but I think we will regret losing him at some point in the season.

Allen is an experienced, smart, tough nose player. One that can dominate an opponent when on his game. The question is: When will he find his game?

I am a fan of Allen and hope he comes around in time. We need that kind of player down the stretch.

It d be beyond irresponsible to get rid of Sapp and I'm not his biggest fan. Allen is injury prone, Carroll looks iffy at best and Ness needs to be cut already.

neither can intercept a ball.....well nor can Bell or Sean Smith...

We must go with Sapp. Although Allen has proven a lot more during his career i still feel more comfortable with Sapp because of Allens health as of late.
