It’s that time of year again. It’s the worst part of year for any football fan. Fans of every team are stuck waiting for the beautiful time of the year that is September and football is back (with the exception of one team each year, this year being the Colts.) We put so much time, money, and emotion into supporting our team and yet again we are sitting here in disarray with empty Sundays for 7 more months. The week just isn’t complete without a Dolphins’ game to be played to end each and every weekend. At times, we all ask ourselves, why can’t that be us up on that podium in February? Why wasn’t it Culpepper hoisting that trophy with the MVP award to his credit? Why wasn’t Shula presenting the trophy to the head coach of the Miami Dolphins? Well Fins’ faithful, we need to keep our chins up. For without the lowest of times, the great ones wouldn’t be so phenomenal. I know it’s been forever, but be patient, we’ll get back. It will be time for the Miami Dolphins again. Once again we fans will have that oh so special feelings that the fans in Indiana are feeling at this exact moment.

As I sat at my best friend’s house, a Colts fan, and watched Manning and the Colts get their ring, I sat in the deepest of pondering. How amazing would that be if it was the aqua and orange? When am I going to get that feeling? It’s moments like this that make me realize that football is more than just a game. Every year we put all of our perspectives and opinions here at Fin heaven and constantly get in arguments because of one reason, our love for the Miami Dolphins. Now what happens? We all sit in anticipation for yet another season to begin so we can start the dream all over again. It has become a revolving series of events over the years. We are filled with hope and excitement early on, only to be left in depression over our team’s performance. It’s been too long, we haven’t seen the playoffs in 5 years and haven’t seen a Super Bowl appearance in 22 years and have become accustomed to losing these past 3 miserable seasons. At what point does it end? When will we get our payoff? When will all these negative feelings finally reverse themselves into joy and such relief? Those answers are yet to be known, but I do know that I will continue my undying love for this team.

We have always had a proud organization that was all about winning. We’ve been through the wonderful memories of Shula and the undefeated team, back to back Super Bowls, Bob Griese, Larry Csonka, A.J Duhe’s amazing interception vs. the Jets, the legacy that was Dan Marino and all the other proud players and moments in this franchise. The tide has turned a little bit for the Dolphins in recent years but we have still been given some players and moments to be proud of. Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor have kept us going these past few years despite poor offense and lackluster coaching. Through it all, I will remain a fan and I know all of you will too. We are all here to support our beloved Dolphins and root for wins and championships each and every year. We all speculate, debate, disagree and have our own personal opinions of who should and shouldn’t be playing for the home team each year. But the truth is we love the Dolphins and are all biding for the same result. Continue to love your team because at some point, it will pay off. Screw the Jets, Buck the Fills and forget the Patsies. Go Miami Dolphins! No matter the result each and every year, we will always love you guys!:dolphins:

I agree. Now if they would just get rid of Chambers!!! Ha ha. LOL.

GO PHINS~!

LOL! This isn't a thread to argue about players. It's here to talk about our love for the Dolphins so I'm not going to touch that one. GO DOLPHINS!:dolphins: If you're on the Dolphins' roster I'm going to root for you! (I love Chambers by the way. )

I used to feel that way, but I really enjoy Football once the end of Februaury rolls around. With the birth of NFL network, and the extensive coverage it offer at the combine and free-agency...football is really becoming a 12 month a year sport. everybody is 0-0. let the speculations begin!

Man I absolutely have to get that. It's honestly killing me not having the NFL network nor the Sunday ticket. I agree that free agency, the draft, OTAs, training camp and all that jazz is fun stuff, but there is nothing like Sundays. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the speculation, but I need football to keep me going.

Thanks for all the props fellas! I've said it a million times before and I'll say it again.

GO DOLPHINS! ALWAYS AND FOREVER, AQUA AND ORANGE!:dolphins:

I know that, I was just kidding you.

Haha, I know man. It's nice to take a break from all the rib jabbing and finger pointing isn't it?

Bravo!!
Truly a great post Aqua, long but great

My apologies my friend. At the conclusion of the game and on the way home, I was just thinking for the longest time about the Dolphins and how truly great it will be the day I witness them win it all.

I don't know. The draft give you that quick fix but it doesn't last long enough. Free agency can be mildly exciting but the off-season seems to drag.
This year was a pretty miserable one for Dolfans. We were essentially out of things by late October. It was a seaosn full of promise that just never materialised. The whole Saban affair was just another punch in the gut.
Things can change quickly in the NFL but I'm not holding my breathe. The Dolphins have a long way to go. This team hasn't played a meaningful game in years. Sure, there have some important ones -aren't all of them important?- but none in the last few seasons that has been memorable for its intensity, drama or significance. Heck, it's been five years since they have had a playoff game, eight since they won one, and 14 since they won a divisional playoff game. Not acceptable. As fans we've had to wait a long time. It's getting tiring...

Yeah I agree about the long dragging on of the off-season, especially when we are waiting to sign a big name player in March. It can take weeks to get a contract finished up and that is very frustrating. I too miss those meaningful games and I itch for them each and every year. The Jacksonvill and 2nd Buffalo games were both pretty big ones for us at the time, but we folded in both and was miserable to watch for Dolphins' fans.

Oh by the way man, we won a playoff overtime thriller in 2000 when Lamar Smith had 200+ yards rushing and scored in OT, so it was only 6 years ago. You're right though, it is getting tiring waiting year after year. Keep the faith though man, GO DOLPHINS!

Did any of you guys try to picture Zach and JT up on that podium taking the trophy from Shula, or am I a little looney?

I got to DVR the Dolphins vs. Lions, Bears, and Jets games this season. Beat the Bears and Lions, but lost to the Jets. Three Dolphins games to keep me going through the offseason. Go Fins!
