Active Roster
It’s that time of year again. It’s the worst part of year for any football fan. Fans of every team are stuck waiting for the beautiful time of the year that is September and football is back (with the exception of one team each year, this year being the Colts.) We put so much time, money, and emotion into supporting our team and yet again we are sitting here in disarray with empty Sundays for 7 more months. The week just isn’t complete without a Dolphins’ game to be played to end each and every weekend. At times, we all ask ourselves, why can’t that be us up on that podium in February? Why wasn’t it Culpepper hoisting that trophy with the MVP award to his credit? Why wasn’t Shula presenting the trophy to the head coach of the Miami Dolphins? Well Fins’ faithful, we need to keep our chins up. For without the lowest of times, the great ones wouldn’t be so phenomenal. I know it’s been forever, but be patient, we’ll get back. It will be time for the Miami Dolphins again. Once again we fans will have that oh so special feelings that the fans in Indiana are feeling at this exact moment.
As I sat at my best friend’s house, a Colts fan, and watched Manning and the Colts get their ring, I sat in the deepest of pondering. How amazing would that be if it was the aqua and orange? When am I going to get that feeling? It’s moments like this that make me realize that football is more than just a game. Every year we put all of our perspectives and opinions here at Fin heaven and constantly get in arguments because of one reason, our love for the Miami Dolphins. Now what happens? We all sit in anticipation for yet another season to begin so we can start the dream all over again. It has become a revolving series of events over the years. We are filled with hope and excitement early on, only to be left in depression over our team’s performance. It’s been too long, we haven’t seen the playoffs in 5 years and haven’t seen a Super Bowl appearance in 22 years and have become accustomed to losing these past 3 miserable seasons. At what point does it end? When will we get our payoff? When will all these negative feelings finally reverse themselves into joy and such relief? Those answers are yet to be known, but I do know that I will continue my undying love for this team.
We have always had a proud organization that was all about winning. We’ve been through the wonderful memories of Shula and the undefeated team, back to back Super Bowls, Bob Griese, Larry Csonka, A.J Duhe’s amazing interception vs. the Jets, the legacy that was Dan Marino and all the other proud players and moments in this franchise. The tide has turned a little bit for the Dolphins in recent years but we have still been given some players and moments to be proud of. Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor have kept us going these past few years despite poor offense and lackluster coaching. Through it all, I will remain a fan and I know all of you will too. We are all here to support our beloved Dolphins and root for wins and championships each and every year. We all speculate, debate, disagree and have our own personal opinions of who should and shouldn’t be playing for the home team each year. But the truth is we love the Dolphins and are all biding for the same result. Continue to love your team because at some point, it will pay off. Screw the Jets, Buck the Fills and forget the Patsies. Go Miami Dolphins! No matter the result each and every year, we will always love you guys!:dolphins:
