Am I missing something....?

We're ranked #31 in Fox's offseason poll, we're ranked #24 overall by SI.

Really I couldn't care less less because offseason rankings don't mean a thing 'cause last year coming into the season we were Superbowl favorites and finished 6-10.

My point is that last season our defense was ranked #4 overall, of which we have improved and this year we are getting no respect at all!

Is it not that defense wins championships?

I'll admit, our offense is suspect but I think that we have improved there and are only a QB away from completion whether it be Green, Cpep, Cleo or Beck.

Defense has worked for the Ravens in the past and the Bears last season, I just feel that ours is getting no respect at all!:fire:

Oh well, maybe we can shock everyone and come out of nowhere and be the surprise team of the year!!!

Not really, you're right on target. The forecasters have no clue, and are merely guessing. Last year they had us and Carolina pegged for the SB. I could care less what they say, I just want to see them play some games. The offense has nowhere to go but up.
 
they did know #### about the intricacies of our team,,we have improved immensely in all three phases of the game,
Offense:the addition of ginn alone is powerful,he will open everything up for chambers and ronnie,,also the influx of young,atheletic and nasty lineman is an upgrade from last year.

defense:the addition of porter and the switch by allen is a huge upgrade.

Specialteams:the addition of ginn gives us the most explosive special teams in the nfl,,,alongside devin hester.

Probably those FOX and SI guys are Jets fans.

I think the saying, defense wins championships is getting a little old. Realistically you need both a great defense and offense. Look at the Colts, Pats and Steelers. With parity in the NFL these days, to set a teams apart both sides must be great. We have always had a great defense and mediocre offense the last 10 years and not gone to the Super Bowl. It makes Cameron a nice change however. The Ravens Super Bowl year should be taken as, I believe, an exception and not the rule.
