Am I still a fan???

OK so I was wondering today after the loss to the Bills about how much of a fan I am? I used to get mad, lose it for a day or two, not wanna talk about the fins till weds. I used to feel downright dirty and nasty for a couple of days. But, after being dissapointed for so many years I think I am finally numb to the fact about losing. Iv'e been a fan since 1984 but the past few years I realized life is too short to be mad about guys playing football the wrong way.

I don't know maybe cause I have a family now, or i fall back on my fantasy team doing well. Who knows but I do ask myself can i still be considered a hard core fan since Iv'e lost those emotions of losing???????:shakeno:

I think you've passed into the realm of "True Fan" where you realize that you have to support your team when they win and lose. Getting mad is alright and it may be that for awhile that was your way of handling the loses.

IMO you're perfectly fine. You are just maturing through life and putting things into proper perspective..

Like you said, you have a nice family now.. And those players on the field are not putting food on your families' table so who cares right ? Well, then of course if you are gonna do something stupid like bet your mortgage on the game then I can see how one can be irate and depressed.. But I dont bet on sports , so .

I wouldn't know. I still have that insane fire burning inside me. Nothing kills me more than a Dolphin loss, and nothing can lift me like a Dolphin win. (Not even a rendozvous with the lady friend.) I have to admit it, I'm obsessed/ in love with the Miami Dolphins.

I used to get really angry too but this year after all the hype, I knew that the team was gonna be bad-average. Just a feeling.

I agree. Loses used to burn me bad. But its been the same garbage over and over for at least 8 years. Still havent had a QB since Marino. And its become quite numbing. And this clown Culppeper has really turned me to off. I will always be a diehard fan, but something has got to change soon.

I want to win every week, but unless I actually played in the game I know the guys tried their hardest and appreciate that they even take the field for us every sunday and give us something to look forward to

I still get pretty steam...especially when I see down right sloppy play. I have gotten better as I get older especially when I am mentally prepared for a 9-6 season......ah...maybe.

Welcome to getting used to being a loser. There is only so many times that you can build yourself up to have this team rip your heart out the next season. I think after the 4-12 season and then the start of last year, a lot of us are just used to losing. Even my fience asked me yesterday if I felt ok because we were getting beat and I didn't even re-act. I used to be going crazy, but I knew when we got down 2 scores it was over. Until we become a winning franchise again, I think we'll all become numb to losing. I never thought I would miss the almost guarenteed 10-6 season from Fiedler and that team.
