All of us have a passion for this team, and over the last 20 years it's been REALLY easy to get cynical every time we lose and give up on seasons too early, but the fact is we only get 16 weeks a year (if we're lucky) to get that feeling of hope and excitement leading up to a game. Yes we're extremely inconsistent this year, but we've shown what this group is actually capable of when they're clicking which is enough to at least give me hope that something good can happen for us. The truth is, if we win this week and 3 favored teams win, then we've got reasonable hope at a playoff birth - and if 4 games go our way then we control our destiny going in to the final week. I know it's somewhat of a long shot, but we can look forward to at least 1 more meaningful game this season instead of laboring on who should be fired right now (we've got all off-season to talk about that). So relax and find that hope so you can enjoy these few days leading up to Christmas Eve, and who knows, maybe they'll surprise us again and make Christmas that much better for all of us :)

Sounds good to me! Happy Holidays to all my Finheaven brothers!! Together we can survive anything, even this season, which I now dub "The Cutler Debacle."

i don't get emotionally invested in any sports team unless they are truly great or have some redeeming quality like being really scrappy or tough, or highly exceeding expectations. regarding the dolphins, we haven't had much of those over my fandom ~ 30 years or so. the only exception i can think of is 2008. 2002 had greatness in ricky, but they weren't a great team.

otherwise i watch yes, but i know when all is said and done, they will fall somewhere in the middle of the pack, then the front office will sell us on their off-season "great" free agent pickups and draft picks, just in time for a new season. wash, rinse, repeat.

I'm exactly as (not very) excited as I was to watch the rest of the games this season. (Except for the 8 PM games because I get up early)

Bartender, I will have what he is drinking. :)

Seriously though, if the team can get some game action for the young players and see what they have for the future, it will be a step towards the off season. I am not in any way advocating for the team tanking. I just want them to rotate some guys in and see what they have. Gase says that some guys are playing for their future so there is still some meaning in the season. Both games are winnable so let's see what the mental makeup is and have some positives going into the 2018 season.

Well you have to LOVE the optimism...and I have spent my entire football life as a fan of the Dolphins...NEVER have I adopted any other team as MY TEAM...and that will not ever change....I am also a fan of good football...great games...hard fought battles and excellent execution...so hoping this Dolphin team goes to the playoffs this season is not on my wish list...

this team is inconsistent and is NOT a good football team...the team lacks in comparison to the very things I like about the game and until those issues turn around ....getting out played and embarrassed in a play off game is not what I want to see...getting humiliated is not on my radar at all...

it was fun last year because of the new coach the hope of finally having a TEAM of contenders...moving on up...but this season and this team has reduced that hope to ashes...this team is not ready for recognition and in my opinion our team belongs at the bottom of the league along with the Browns and Bengals and 49ers as a "maybe next year" kind of team that continually flounders instead of flourishing.....The Jaguars the Vikings the Rams...those teams may have finally turned a corner...this team....not so much

I'm with you...enjoy the ride....too many don't know how.

excited for the kickoff but my exhilaration wanes after the normal 3 and out on O or back breaking drive where the opposition converts two or three 3rd and longs. Fingers crossed for a solid finish, been in this position way to long.

Love the optimism, and no, you're not the only one.

Let us hope that even with this razor thin chance at getting in the playoff, we can still manage to do it.

Merry Christmas everyone.

As long as we are mathematically alive I’m exited. I think KC will drop a 50 burger on us but I still must watch.

I'd be excited if we can help those two teams we end up playing get worse or no playoff shot at all.
As I've said all year long, playoffs or not, the team needs to be looked at from top to bottom
