Am I the only one to catch Sean Smiths interview slip?

Yea I caught that, mentioned it in another thread, and nobody bit, so I figured I was just crazy.

We might be reading too much into it, but the sheepish look he got after, and the "aw sorry" when there was no need to apologize, plus the knowing giggle with Andy Kent who's probably more privy to what's not supposed to be privy....kinda makes you wonder don't it?

He was saying how one of his goals coming into camp was to get on the field any way possible. He said something like "I wanted to get on the field whether it be special teams, offense..." and then he laughed and corrected himself and then said maybe and laughed some more.

Bascially he said he was looking to get on the field anyway he could to contribute either on special teams, or offense and then he kinda giggled it off and said defense.

Yeah if he was white he would have been beet red. Plus if you listen close you hear one of the reporters then ask if that was a possibility and he says maybe real quite and you can tell he want to get off the topic quick.

thanks guys. Appreciate the quick answers! Any of you think that is even realistic? Does he have any history at WR?

He was recruited to play WR and converted to CB at Utah. In fact, he still contends he'd be a top 10 pick if he had stayed at WR. Maybe he will have a chance to prove it.

He actually enrolled at Utah as a RunningBack before he was moved to WR and CB. Find it interesting he use to return kicks in High School as well. :ponder:

With this staffs willingness to explore all avenues nothing would surprise me. I also think having Davis would make them less scared to throw him over there 3 or 4 times a game. It's not unheard of for CB's to play a couple plays at WR. Deion did it (a few years late and past his prime) He also had no experience there and from what I understand Smith was a great receiver. We've already seen him make a couple really tough catches, he didn't accidentally make those. I would hope it would only be a one year thing to get us through this season and this time next year we will be all square at the wide out position.
