Yea yea, i know i know, hall of famer, one of the greatest qbs to play the game, and so on..... but lets look at the facts,
manning hasnt played football in a year or more
is reported to having a "noodle" arm now
wasnt as great when he was still playing 2 seasons ago like in his prime days.

Lets face it folks, manning is not in his prime anymore, has neck problems, and cant throw as good as he was. He is a huge huge gamble and i just dont see why yet again we are taking the "old" qb ways again when we have the chance to draft a young stud weeden/tannenhill with our 8th pick and finally get that first round qb have been waiting a decade for. Matt flynn is my #1 option before even drafting a qb because number 1 the guy knows most of playbook already, has chemistry with joe philbin, and is coming in with tons of experience under aaron rodggers. We have been down this road before with old qbs, and u can say peyton is alot better than them but the neck problem should be enough to keep us away from manning. Whats to stop these neck problems from coming back week 2 of the season and already we are stuck with matt moore again???/

Im all for going the young route, call me a debbie downer or w.e but not only is manning a huge risk with the injury and not even being as good as he once was, but we also have tons of teams that want him and manning seems to be more interested in those teams than us anyways, why not move on to better smarter options? I also think philbin will be a better coach with flynn under him, instead of manning as where philbin is going to have to be a "yes" man type coach for manning. I dont know, im thinking outside the box right now and think that miami is just a much better team with flynn/philbin than an old injured manning who hasnt played footballs in a year or more. I really hope i am not the only one who hopes manning doesnt pick us. This isnt the lebron james type free agent pick up here, we are gettin an old injured grant hill who hasnt played in a year, lebron was well in his prime when the heat got him. Manning isnt.

I won't be disappointed if he doesn't sign with Miami. I have thought all along Flynn is the best option but I wouldn't mind Manning as long as they draft Tannehill.

not only am i not going to be disappointed, i am going to be thankful we dodged a close one.

Manning has stated he has made considerable progress throwing while his nerves have regenerated and his right arm has strengthened to the point where sources say his velocity has increased, he is able to throw the NFL's traditional passing routes and his distances have routinely reached 50 yards.

He did say at his Colts farewell press conference that he still has progress to make with his throwing.

Two weeks ago Manning threw while wearing shoulder pads and a helmet over a five-day period at Duke University. Coaches and players who were present said Manning was impressive in his performance.

Manning has extensive quality video to show teams and is not believed to be opposed to working out for teams he identifies as finalists. However, he has acknowledged a willingness to financially protect any team that signs him in the event of a medical setback related to his previous neck injury and surgeries as he did last summer when he rejected a fully guaranteed five-year $100-million offer from Colts owner Jim Irsay.

Yes, the vast majority of fans want Manning here in Miami. Last poll I saw had it at about 75% in favor.

If he is healthy, he is by far our best chance to get to the big game. He'd be our best player day 1

I didn't really want him. I've sheered against the guy for years. I also think when you rattle him, well he gets rattled. Then I started to see the light and think, he the guy is pretty good so why not embrace it. Now I've returned to thinking, he is the last thing we want. The best move would have been RG3. Spend the money get it done. Looks like we will be back to the same old same old. Some level two QB that everyone talks about trading. At least with RG3 you give the guy time and embrace it. At least that route illustrates a plan in place people can rally around. All the second guessing, questions and debates around Manning are the last things this struggling team needs. They need an identity. Manning perhaps doesn't see it either.

Fans are getting tired of the Miami QB story line. Ross is going to break his golden egg soon if he doesn't get it together.

I'd rather have Flynn too. Sure he's not Peyton Manning but he'd be our Matt Schaub. I think we can make some noise with Flynn, I really do.

Thank you! Finally a thread i can get behind.

You hit the nail on the head. He's just too old and too broken down. I don't want a guy purely based on reputation. Besides, like u mentioned, he doesn't even seem to want to talkto miami (thank God) so forget him. I'm on the Flynn wagon and I'm starting to think the dolphins are too based on their lack of interest in Manning.

Im only going to be happy if philbin believes Flynn is THE MAN!! Not going to lie I would really like peyton to sign but only if we draft a qb. We shall see.

yeah , there should be about 10 of you guys agreeing.

Think outside the box, if manning was still going to make this great comeback u honestly think the colts would let him go??? no they would not, never. We are talking about a qb that will go down as a top 3 qb to ever play the game with dan marino and montana. The dolphins should be smarter than this, its fools gold.

I feel the same. It's not like it's the 27 old Manning that dominates. We'd be getting a shell of a former star.
