anyone else have any doubts about him, aside from his injuries?

No, He has prooved the last two years that he can get it done at QB. Now his injuries I am definitly concerned about.

Every QB has doubters. Some people doubt Manning and Brady. In fact I would bet that if we swung a deal for Manning some people would say "he can't win it all". So I'm sure you're not the only one that questions Brees. They're all freaks, but at least you're not all alone.

im not saying i wouldnt like to have him. i just dont get a good vibe for some reason

Brees has always had doubters. He has doubters all over San Diego.

I think most people fear that he is not the prototypical QB. He's not 6'4" for example.

But the guy is a leader. This 3rd down passing rating is extremely high. He knows how to avoid sacks and when to throw the ball away. He makes great decisions most of the time. He puts good touch on the ball when he needs to and throws good intermediate routes. He doesn't go vertical very often and is inconsistent when he does.

But I think his story is one of the better ones in the NFL. From a political standpoint, there is no reason that Rivers shouldn't have seen the field the past 2 years. The only reason he didn't is because Brees said "This is my team", and slammed the door shut for Rivers' playing time. He's one confident guy, and an extreme work-a-holic.

more opinions like yours are welcome buckeyebolt. thats the kind of stuff im looking for. i think i still have noodleARMaphobia due to overexposure during the fiedler years, and that makes me weary of drew a bit...

Thanks claytonAndDuper. I don't blame anyone for having their concerns. he's not a slam dunk.

I hope I don't come off as trying too hard to sell Brees. I am a Brees fan, but he is not perfect. He's made some crucial picks - he always has. I've been disgusted with a few of them I might add.

But I don't think he's reached a ceiling. He's a stand up guy. I'm a little concerned about the injury like everyone else is. But when he says he's feeling good, ahead of schedule and has no doubt that he will be ready for camp at full strength - I don't know - I just believe him. He's thrives on challenge, it's been pretty well documented. Coming to a new team like Miami will be that kind of challenge. I know he's rehabbing like a mutha.

Time will tell. The whole injury -as a Bolt fan and as a Brees fan - has made me sick to my stomach. It's nice to come here and see a little love for the guy. I hope Miami works out. I think it's a great fit.

Edit: As far as the noodle arm thing. He doesn't have cannon, but it's strong enough IMO. Funny thing is, many SD camp observers think Brees has a stronger arm than Rivers. It's certainly debatable, but it's not a slam dunk one way or the other.

Whats not to like about him? Except for his injury, of course.
He is young 26-27 years old
has been to a pro-bowl
Is known as a leader in his team
never has had off field problems
Is an unrestricted FA, so no need to spend draft pics to upgrade the Qb.
Besides the fact that he is on the short end (6ft tall) of the Qb's playing now I dont see too many negatives, IF HIS SHOULDER CHECKS OUT MEDICALLY!

i really like drew a lot...i enjoyed watching him play at purdue and i think he would be a huge welcome to this team that needs a qb so bad...also a added bonus if we can get him would be then we could concrete the draft on secondary and ol line instead of taking croyle or whitehurst in later rounds...every 1 see my point ..and yes the injury bothers me somewhat but not enough to not to want to see this guy in a phin uniform

he seemed to have trouble carrying that team on his back, people say hes a leader, i dont know a ton about him, is he a gunslinger, can he bring his team back, can he carry us, or is he a glorified care taker
