It seems that the largest reaction from people on this board is downright anger towards Saban. Am I the only one who is indifferent/glad that he's gone. I mean I could care less that he lied and blah blah blah, I'm looking at this in a strictly business persepective. This team sucked this year, and Saban wasn't getting it down. You could see on the sideline he was outmatched and overwhelmed. Our Qb carousel was a joke and made us even more of a laughing stock. Plus Nick didn't have his heart in it, so let him go.

I for one am anxiously looking forward to this coming year. I was disapointed in the regime this year, and now we'll have a new coach with new ideas and philosophies coming in. Maybe his evaluation of the team will be different than Sabans and we see a QB or a big Offensive playmaker taken in the draft. I'm just really excited for the next possibilites.

I couldn't agree more. I didn't notice it so much the first year, but there were SO MANY TIMES this past season that I would watch Nick or look at Nick on the sideline and he just has this look on his face like he was as confused as could be. He looked like he just wasn't getting it. I was fooled by the guy and I certainly drank the coolaid, but, I am not devasted..

I'm cautiously optomistic. Fortunately a few teams w/ new coaches made big gains right away this year and last, so maybe this will be something that starts our upswing who knows.

As much as I hate to say it, he really looked like Dave W. on the sidelines this year. Especially Dave's last year.

Im glad hes gone, but im still a little pissed at how he handled it. But honestly, Im pretty excited about our prospects, I had really soured on him this season, it was very uninspiring.

Saban showed who he was with this whole thing. Angry? No. I'm glad he showed his true self and then left. So we wasted two years. Better than wasting five. He NEVER would have gotten it done. He's shown he doesn't have the character to get it done - not in the big leagues anyway. Punks can and do win in college. And true enough, they do sometimes win in the NFL too (Parcells - who whines like a 16 year old teenage girl on her period), but it doesn't happen as often.

I think what we are all mad about is that there are two parts to rebuilding 1)is to tear down the parts you don't want 2) rebuild

Saban tore it down and left a mess. QB mess, offense a mess, aging defense, and dissatifaction in house.

There is an old saying that it is easier to tear down than to build up and Saban took the easy road then ran when the hard part hit.

I am not angry. I like Nick Saban and wish he would have stayed, but only if he was commited to it. The more I thought about and pondered it, I am happy though because we would have had to deal with it year in and year out. Is he happy, s he gonna stay or go.

I just hope we get a great coach that wants to be here and gets us back the credibility, and respect that we deserve. Also gets us back to what many of us fans are used to winning football.
