That's not drinking the kool-aid and jumping on the Henne bandwagon? I mean, props go to the man-he played an amazing game, one of which I'm sure Pennington would have struggled in if he was still starting.

BUT-A great game does NOT make you a great quarterback. Anyone remember Jay Fiedler? He had some great games...even made the probowl. I think we were all calling for his head there towards the end though :)

Not saying Henne won't pan out...just saying I think we should reserve the "Chad Henne is the real deal!" posts for a little bit.

People are just excited about the possibility of the QB revolving door coming to a close. I have to disagree with you on one thing though, last night Henne was a great quarterback. I'm not breaking out the future HOF jacket like OchoCinco has, but hey when you drive your team down the field against a top 5 defense 3 times in the 4th quarter and win the football game, thats great quarterback play

I can only speak for myself, but with me he took someone who was skeptical and made him into an optimist. That's all I could ask for after two games.

It's too early to crown him as a great QB, but it's clear we have someone who we can all get behind and build the team around. Maybe he never achieves the level of greatness we expect after having Marino, but it's our best chance in ages.

The lumps will come as well.

I gotta admit I'm really excited about Henne after seeing him play tonight. He engineered not 1, but TWO go-ahead drives in the 4th quarter, including the game winner.
BUT its way too premature to declare the QB search done for the next 10 years. He's won 2 games, and looked tremendous tonight. Lets see how the season plays out before we put him in the "Hall".

Yup, too many years of having to put up with sub par QB play. To see a young guy (drafted by us) come into a game and play a very solid game making all the throws, gives me faith in the future. He may not pan out, but he has started down the right path and I for one will be on his side all the way.

Wow already!!!

Nobody sane is saying that Henne is the next marino. But I think we do have the right to be happy with his 2 nfl starts. In fact this game he really could not have played much better than he did. So take this game and the good feeling and be happy that Henne is playing well so far!

I'm right there with ya man...hopefully he works out for us. I think all of his doubters are obligated to at least give him a chance after last night's game. I haven't seen one of our QB's drive down the field like that in the 4th quarter while eating up the clock and making it look damn good too since Dan the Man! (I'm not comparing Henne to Marino in any way shape or form, but man that was nice too see!)

Henne is beginning to look like a starting caliber QB ... if you analyze how he managed the team during pre-season, you could see he had command of the huddle and had an uncanny knack of driving the offense down the field for scores... he was maturing before our very eyes IMO ... with more playing time and experience he can be what has been missing at the QB position since Marino retired... hats off the the coaching staff for getting him all those reps during the pre-season...

Henne is out there playing a phenomenal game that a ten year vet would be proud of, and this is only his second start. There's a lot of reason for optimism there and you can't blame anyone for having it.

You say Fiedler had great games, and he did. The difference was that Fiedler had a lot of time here and was a veteran when he put up those performances. And at the same time, Fiedler just lacked the genuine physical tools that Henne has, and Henne can make throws that no other QB we've had since Marino could make. There is significantly more talent and upside there than there ever was for Fiedler. And that means that when a guy can put it all together in only his second start and second year, some people are going to get excited and there's no reason to be ashamed in doing so.

we're not saying he is the man for the future for sure....But the way he played tonight, he made the short accurate throws, he held his composure, made the key third down passes and for once we have a qb that can hit the long passes too. He did all the good things of our past QB's since Marino and none of the bad. When we had it 3 and 6 or whatever with 2 minutes left, from past experience my gut said we would not get the first, would kick the tying field goal then lose in OT or on the final tick of regulation. I was so happy when he converted both third down plays at the end. Both those throws to Cam were money. I am definitely ten times more excited about Henne as I have been about any other QB we have had since Marino.
