I can't seem to shake the feeling that (win or lose) we should be trying our best to enjoy this season, as opposed to looking forward to next years draft so early. I don't really participate in the "draft this or that person threads", mostly due to just wanting to enjoy the current year. Don't get me wrong. I realize how things are looking for the team right now. I just can't enjoy taking an overly pessimistic approach to the whole thing, and calling it a season all together. I'm not overly optimistic either. I want to just sit back, enjoy watching the game on Sundays, and remain hopeful that things will suddenly click. (As I'm sure many of you also do.) Isn't it a bit early to worry about what we'll do in April ? (No disrespect intended to those starting draft threads.)

nice post. I agree with you. I look forward to every sunday to see every play of the game. It doesnt matter if they are winning or not, although i get upset if they arent. I just love watching them play. Its a big part of the reason I was so disappointed not to get the game last week.

Amen man - let's enjoy 2005 first!

It's fun to look ahead too, but not at the expense of enjoying the season we're in - the birth of the Saban era!

I agree that we should be enjoying this season. We are only a game out of first in what looks to be a weak division this year. We also have some very winnable games on our remaining schedule. I personally don't think its ever too early to think about the draft though. The draft is one of my favorite parts of football and I try to follow players' stocks and things like that year round. The draft is an exciting event no matter where you are picking, so when things aren't so exciting with the current dolphins, it is something to get excited about. Plus the draft is a nice break from the Saban sucks, Linehan sucks, Chambers sucks, Brown is a bust, Ricky is a waste threads.

I agree, the draft is still 6 months away. All offseason we mainly look forward to the season. We are 2-4 and not out of contention yet. (8-8/9-7 COULD win the division) lets enjoy the season.

You may not be alone but definately seem to be in the minority. It seems that a lot of times people here forget that this is our team and we are supposed to support them and root for them not matter what. While I do participate in the draft debate threads, and the threads talking about what we need to do/who we need to pick up in the offseason, I stay away from the "So and So is a bust" threads (unless I'm defending the person that is being accused) and the "Saban is clueless" etc etc threads because those threads seem to be attacks on the team that I want no part of. Its one thing to point out that a player had a bad game, or DISCUSS a certain questionable play call but the people who post things like "WTF was Saban thinking, he should have done this, he is an idiot for that and for drafting Ronnie cuz he's a bust" and things of that nature are just ridiculous

Thanks for the responses. Maybe I just don't think the same as a few others, due to the fact that I don't watch any college ball.

No your not the only one. I agree with you. I admit its hard to just try to enjoy when you want your team a certian way but hey. When the Dolphins do end up winning the Super Bowl eventually,
We will party like its 1999!

Scrap, you have the right mentality. Enjoy the game for the game itself, and just enjoy the fact that the season is rolling, and we have football to watch. Come February, we will all wish there was a game to see on Sunday. This is the best time of year, enjoy our Phins, and football in general.

Peace

Dude that's why I'm always happy about the Phins. I feel lucky that I can watch this team each and every week. Win or lose I'll be there.

To be honest sometimes, well, a lot of times actually, college football is more entertaining than NFL. Don't get me wrong, I love the NFL, but I am absolutely Fanatical about football and my Dolphins and Longhorns and I have noticed that most of the time Thursdays/Saturdays present me with more exciting games, overall, than Sundays/Mondays do. Take the recent USC/ND matchup. That is BY FAR the best football game I have seen in a LOOOONG time, maybe EVER. It just seems like the players in college want it more than the pros, like sometimes the pro guys are thinking "we already made it, no pro scouts to impress, i'm already at the top" and the "flash" is kinda taken out of it whereas in college ever single person is trying to put on his best showing everytime out because they all know tons of scouts are watching their every play and their future depends on it. College seems to have more "highlight reel" plays too. Take Reggie Bush for example, I cant think of one NFL player that absolutely wows me everytime he steps on the field. I'm not saying Bush will be that way in the NFL, I know it is a MUCH harder level of play, but still, there is nobody in the NFL that you almost HAVE to watch his teams game for just to see what he'll do next. Vick is the closest thing, and by FAR. College has a BUNCH of those "flashy" players whereas the NFL seems to have one, Michael Vick. Also, college is more intense because its like, you lose ONE GAME and basically your season is over, in terms of national title hopes anyway. In the NFL, you can drop 6, 7, possibly even EIGHT games and still have a shot at the Super Bowl. Games that put an unbeaten team against another good team, even another unbeaten team, in college are very tense. Like last nights VT/BC game. That was a tense game, if VT lost that basically would have locked USC and Texas for the Rose Bowl, barring some major disaster loss by either team. When two undefeated NFL teams play each other it realyl just means that after that day the 1972 Dolphins have one less team to worry about. It doesn't make or break a season.

I can't wait for more Ronnie Williams and Ricky Brown. Unfortunately, the teams dismal draft record has put us in this position. I'll take the wins now but with Saban every lose is a better draft pick to contribute down the road. He'll never say it but we know it's true.
