Not sure if Toomer is FA this yr but he looks like he was unhappy with his limited role in the Giants offense after Plax went behind bars. Saw an article in the a NY paper today that he may not agree to a new contract w/ the G-Men and move on.

I know this guy is very long in the tooth and will not be a game-changing WR that will take the focus away from Ginn but... He's a still a very solid possession WR who still make plays and gets separation from DBs. Think he'd be an excellent mentor for our young WR corps if we were to consider him...

My apologies if this was already posted by someone else. He's by no means the ideal like say Boldin or even Coles but hey... It is the off season for us Dolfans and what else can we talk about?? :D

I really don't see him being much of an upgrade over what the Dolphins have already. So I would say no.

I would love a good WR vet with our young WR core, but not Toomer.

If Toomer were willing to sign a one year contract at the league minimum, then yes.

2 words. yes please.

personally i feel like he would be a perfect veteran presence in the WR Corp. hes a clutch WR that is a first down machine. at 6'3 he has good size to. sign me up for Amani!

I take him on a 1yr deal at the right price. Would give us a veteran presence as well as some time to find out if Brandon London is the real deal and any wr we draft a yr to develop.

I personally would rather draft a wr or get a younger option like Bryant Johnson.

I posted this in another thread, and knew it would get this kind of reaction. But it DOES make sense. Our offense and defense are in different phases right now. The O has lots of young talent but lacks leadership, and the D needs some attention in the draft (and with younger UFAs; Bryant McFadden, for instance). We have a good core of young wideouts in Bess, Camarillo and Ginn. London has showed promise, and the organization is apparently very high on him. We do not have room for a rookie WR. We really dont. What we do need, however, is a veteran to teach these guys how to be professionals. Look at Isaac Bruce in SF this season. Everyone said he was done, and he had a fine year. Say what you will about Toomer's age, but he makes clutch catches when his team needs them. He has continued to start for a very good Giants team despite the drafting of Steve Smith and Sinorice Moss in the early rounds of the draft.

I think it would be the best option out there at WR. Bryant Johnson? Yuck. May as well call him Wilford II. A young guy, yes, but not a guy that is going to upgrade the position all that much. Toomer's resume speaks for itself.

ok let me get this straight...

1. hes super old

2. hes not an upgrade over any of our WR

sure lets bring him in....

Bryant Johnson is not an upgrade. Neither is Nate Washington. Or Jabar Gaffney. And we are not signing Houshmanzadeh.

Engram or Toomer is the right fit.
