Our young corners excelled, our safeties looked great why? The freakin' awesome pass rush, Wake, Anderson, Porter, JT and even our Dline was meeting at Delhomme. Wake recorded no sacks and no tackles but had maybe his best game of the year. Pressure, pressure and more pressure it makes us a completely different team.

Great game!

Wake should get a 1/2 sack on the first one. He was there at the same time as was it starks?

Also pretty much any good team in the NFL has a pass rush. That is fundamentals 101. A dominating pass rush is a key element to being a successful franchise. You can have the best corners in the world but if the qb has 7-10 seconds to get rid of the ball every throwing down, the wideouts are going to get open at some point.

That's how the Giants won a superbowl.

382 yards is not good IMO .. this defense scares me... especially in the 4th quarter!!! i'm not sold on this unit YET!!! they need to improve to a top 10 defense!!! this isn't working so far this season... and now with Ferguson looking to be injured ... the draft looks like the NT position moves to the TOP of the priority list for 2010 instead of a WR ...

You mean, amazing how good we look against a crappy QB like Jake Delhomme and against a team with crappy tight ends

Instead of Manning and Clark and Brady and Moss/Welker/Watson

And even with that garbage QB with no tight-ends and a banged up O-line, Carolina still almost got 400 yards of offense.

We are very lucky they only ran the ball 27 times and passed on 42 attempts. If it was reversed, they would have easily beaten us as they were gashing us on the run.

Carolina has been running the ball a lot more recently and they flubbed it against us by reversing their calls.

The Dolphins looked like crap against the run, and were only saved because the Panthers have an incredibly stupid O-coordinator who trusted a sh*tty Qb like Delhomme to pass 40+ times.

yeah good scheme and effort tonight to get after it. I would like to see some blitzes with Bell, Wilson, Davis and Jones just to mix it up but good effort tonight...one play in the passing game worth mentioning otherwise delhomme was not looking good. Just keep bringing it hard PP see what happens when you bring pressure the whole game

I was kinda kidding there and just messin around playing devils advocate for a bit.

I love the win.. It was a great win to win on the road on a very short week.

That's not easy to do for a very young team like Miami has.

Baby steps!

I wouldn't mind betting that if you broke it down most of the big passing yards are compiled while Wake is on the sidelines. Why he is not in on every passing down is ridiculous.

no, it was Porter. Wake arrived a split second late. same on Porter's 2nd sack. he forced Delhomme to step into Starks and Merling, too. so, Wake didn't record a sack, but he was putting pressure on the QB all night long. it was him who pressured Delhomme on that last heave into the endzone as well. very good game for him.

that's my feeling as well. Wake had one bad play that stood out. that was his offside penalty. the very next play, with Wake on the bench, Delhomme had great protection and threw a rainbow to Smith for the TD.
