Amazing that some people on this board are still blaming the fans....lol

I assume this thread is partially directed to me. Fine, but what this thread FAILS to understand is that my beef isn't that the fans are responsible for the recent losses or even in the previous few seasons. My problem is that the stadium is always filled with opposing fans week in and week out for well over a decade. My problem is that playoff games don't sell out. Has nothing to do with the current regime, or even the one before this.

Do you have any proof of this, a link or something? I keep seeing it mentioned by the anti-fan crowd, it started out by someone saying a playoff game didn't sell out now its been exaggerated to games. Needless to say I don't believe we a had playoff game not sold out let alone multiple games.

Here's a hint: Miami hasn't had "bandwagon fans" in decades...

Precisely. Awful difficult to have 'bandwagon' fans who only show up when the team is winning.... when you haven't won anything in 40 years to begin with.

The only reason our playoff game against Baltimore wasn't blacked out was because all the sponsers bought out the remaining tickets to lift it. Pretty common knowledge

When the announcers are calling out the fans, you know it's not good.

I watch a lot of football, it's not too often that the entire game the announcers are talking about how empty the seats are or how quiet it is.

As I have been saying yet people FAIL to listen to is that this problem dates back over a decade. Don't blame poor quarterback play or losing because the 2000 playoff game got blacked out. This was the year after Marino, they won 11 games and won a division championship, and they couldn't sell out the stadium in time to prevent a blackout. Tickets were easy to get that for that game because that was my first Dolphins game in Miami. I was in he Orlando area and after they beat the Pats my Dad decided he wanted to take me down and was surprised to find out we had choices when we called. Was the opposing fan problem a problem back than like it is now? At 16 years old and my first game there I didn't really take notice. But I do remember an obnoxious Colts fan wearing a Harbaugh jersey in my section.

The easiest fix would be if the local fan base got their act together and started supporting their home team. With what I have seen in the stands and the attitude on these boards I don't see that happening anytime soon. Even Buffalo supports their team better than Miami. If you want Jets season tickets, you have to wait years on a waiting list, not the case in Miami. If more fans had season tickets, the opposing fan problem would diminish significantly. No, I am not saying support a bad product on the field, what I am complaining about is that when the team is WINNING, the problems still exist. I keep getting told the Dolphins don't have a problem because they have great attendance numbers. Those numbers are sold tickets, which include the thousands of empty seats that local tv stations buy up and the 15,000-20,000 or so fans rooting for the other team.

Maybe Ross could lower ticket prices, but that would result in more of a total loss for him and he probably wouldn't sell many more tickets. Obviously the most drastic solution would be relocation. If Ross keeps losing money even after he gets the team on a winning path, I am sure it will be an option in the back of his head, especially with a sexy new stadium being built in Los Angeles.

Definition of Band Wagon Fans.. those who only show up when your team is winning

Hey, another hardcore who probably live in Seattle or something. PM me and I'll send you my address, this way you can send me money (couple hundred atleast should do, gotta take the gf as well and all that ****) and I'll go to the game. Actually, probably not. Factor in the drive home which will be misereable and it's not even worth it.

Winning is nice, but I'd even settle for competetive at this point. Not sure if you are aware but this organization hasn't done remotely anything you would consider a "success" in a long, long time. The AFCE crown doesn't count when Brady is hurt all year. Might as well brag about beating someone on crutches in a race.

The Hurricanes got 67,000 on Saturday...

Are people only going to pay for a GOOD product?

We are smart down here. Sorry haters.

It's my fault that the coach loves FG or the millionaire defense player Nolan Caroll can't ****ing turn around when he is covering the best receiver in football...

Some on here (Tony supporters) don't even blame the coach when he says "I have no answers" from yesterday...

Blaming the fans is just laughable. really....

Yeah maybe if we cheered harder the players would play well enough to earn their money? Their supposed to be professionals.

I have supported this team for 41 years, and I can take some down time as long as I feel progress is being made to turn it around...but what I see is a team not playing all out for their coach, and everytime I've seen that in NFL history its meant a change was coming. I supported this team thru its worst season ever, the 1-15 horror that this year is beginning to resemble. It was the first year of a new regime and I felt that whatever was wrong would be rectified, and it was, or at least a stab at fixing it was by bringing Parcells and company in. But here we are 4 years later, and I see the same downward spiral that the Wannstedt era was....like that era this one has gone on too long.

The Owners original gut instinct was correct, when this team quit on Sparano late last season, that was the clue it was over and it was time to move.

So I totally understand the fans rebelling in the form of not showing up...its the only REAL voice we have to push the owner into action.

Just stop. You know as well as I those last couple playoff appearnces (I think) we just limped in anyway. This team has no fire and didn't then. I was at that last Baltimore playoff game though, sat right next to Frank Gore and got a sig. I had season tickets for a while, haven't for a while as well. Don't expect me to re-up anytime soon. I'm in the horrible fan category though it seems. Let's win consistently and see what happens. ****, let's try and be competetive first..

Nobody talks about others team, or maybe no other fans talk about their teams like this. I, as well as many people on here could list a ton of teams with attendance issues. Hell..I saw empty seats at the Jets game! Yes, the Jet's game. Now, maybe it's not as noticeable because the seats are grey/green and blend in better (like how Canes fans blend in well with the orange empty seats) than the Sunkist orange, but they were there. I'm sure NY has a few more people than Miami as well..so..

You seem to be made of money because you keep telling people how to spend theirs. "Support your team", **** that. I have..plenty..as have most people. Just because we don't want to WASTE (yes, waste) hundreds of dollars that could be better spent on something doesn't make people "less fans". Stop blaming the fans. Blame the **** *** organization who can't put a decent product on the field. Blame it on the organization who does a horrible job at marketing this team. Blame it on the players who are getting paid millions and aren't living up to it.

Where were Colts fans before Manning? Pats fans before Brady? Sants before Brees? Umm, San Diego fans aren't all that great. Saw a lot of seats empty at the San Fran game, how bout them Titans? Yeah, get over it. It's everywhere.

Please actually read my posts, because you still FAIL to understand my point and concern.

I read your post and i see your point, but do you realize we won our first 2 games last season on the road and have lost 2 of our first this year at home this season? fans have nothing to do with what goes on in the field. We are not the ones who get paid millions and millions to perform, the players are and the coaches are the ones out there and the ones gettin paid to perform. Like i said, blaming the fans, is just beyond hilarious.

I could totally see Sparano doing this cry for help.
get ready for the Daniel Thomas wildcat next week.... watch and see. I want a real coach, please Mr. Ross? A real talent evaluator too while you are at it. Ireland is lost. Sparano and Ireland spend too much time looking for that " diamond in the rough" and they pass on drafting obvious talent. I have already gotten a bald spot from all of the head scratching draft choices. I'm tired of asking "who the hell is that?" after each draft pick.

how can you not take us fin fans into account. as a whole we suck ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 we dont show up at games,we dont make any noise, we leave early even when we are in it or winning. grant it the orange bowl had class. place rocked harder than any stadium out there. jrs just cant compete. the bowl was ugly and mean. jrs has no character. but in the fans defense most of us real floridians dont even live in the state anymore. to many other states and other contries peeps who have no real love for the fins.

Stick a roof on the stadium. Just don't ask the taxpayers to fund it. You own the stadium Ross. Use your own money and finance it.
