An article I agree with about Matt Moore

I think Stoda has consistent cheap shots in his writing. I hate it when the writer takes a quote and puts his own rhetorical questions in the piece.

Matt Moore has been solid for the team.

Outside of Andrew Luck, no rookie will be has productive as Matt Moore next year. If you are willing to go through the tough times that come with a rookie, then play him. I mean that...not being a jerk. However, I am not sure based on people's attitudes on this site, I do not think they are ready.

If you're going to ride with Moore as the starter, have fun with that. Same thing happened in Carolina, he lit it up for them at the end and what happened then? They realized what we all will realize soon is that he isn't a Starter in this league and never will be. I mean he had Steve smith to throw the ball too and he still sucked it up good enough for them to insert clausen.

Matt Moore is the starter until you find somebody better.

And like I said, good luck finding somebody better.

Matt Moore's ceiling is about what we have seen. If everything went right and the team around him was strong he could lead you to a wild card spot before getting pumped by the first good team you meet in the playoffs.

Clearly you have to play him until you get someone better but even if RG3 and luck are gone we should take a quarter back and more than one if possible. I would have no objection to taking someone in the first or second AND then taking a kellen moore type in the 5th. The packers took Brohm and Flynn together. Brohm was supposed to be the better prospect but flynn turned out to be far better once they turned pro.

I most certainly want to see what Pat Devlin can do.
The odds are against any drafted QB's playing better than Moore is right now, and the odds are astronomically against Pat Devlin's playing better than Moore is right now.

IMO you stick with Moore until he starts playing consistently inadequately, if that ever happens. Otherwise you risk sitting him and derailing his development in favor of a guy who stands a much better chance of being worse than Moore.

If Moore could improve his pocket presence and cut down on his fumbling, he might turn into a long term starter at QB. That would require investing in even more top OL draft picks, but it might be the best strategy with no clear cut QB to draft.

You have to take a QB now to plan for such a development. You dont wait until moore plays bad and then think about a plan B. By all means have Moore as the starter day 1 next september, but his successor better be on the roster like Henne was to Pennington. We just need to get a better prospect than Henne was.

Nobody said not to take a QB. I said not to sit Moore in favor of who you might take, until and unless he's playing consistently inadequately.

Exactly what I have been saying all along, but QBR nation thinks that is all that matters. We need a better QB period. Hopefully we can swing something in a draft move or trade in the off season. I do agree that there isn't a whole lot of options out there, Moore is better than say a McNabb. However, we are going to be stuck right were we have been the last few years....right around the 7-9 to 9-7 range. A favorable schedule might get us in the playoffs as a wildcard if we are lucky, where we would get our butts handed to us. Matt Moore is not the answer. I will say he is a little better than Henne, but maybe a game....2 at the most. That won't get it done!

You mean like playing well in the first half and not the second?

Journalistic drivel. What we saw today was "PARCELLSBALL" all over again. WHY did MIAMI go to running up the gut, inside the Ts, almost completely after halftime? When MOORE was doing so well in the 1st Half leading an effective, aggressive, potent passing game that set up the run beautifully? When things got a little desperate in the 4th, MIAMI went back to aggressinve passing, and got a TD: they went thru the N.E. "D" like a hot knife thru butter on that drive!!! So, AGAIN, WHY DID MIAMI GO AWAY FROM WHAT WORKED---AGAIN? I/m/o, this is enough reason NOT to make BOWLES the HC. The stench of PARCELLS & HENNING, and PARCELLSBALL, must--repeat MUST--be purged.
