Andrew Franks from anywhere outside of 35 yards, Dolphins down 1 or 2 points, 4th quarter, inside a minute to play. We don't blow teams out. I love where we're going but this is going to happen, and I won't have the ability to watch this with my eyes open...

And has he ever made a pressure kick? Already cost us at Seattle. Imagine having that W under our belt.

Haven't seen alot of it this year from him with the long field goals. We've heard he can make 65+in practice. I agree he has far from proven himself as a long ball guy, but so many teams have had problems with guys making 30 yarders this year, Franks doesn't seem so bad. He will need to make a couple long ones to cement himself as a guy that can make those - for himself as much as the coaches i'm sure.

Franks has the leg to make kicks outside of the 35, as well as Franks has the ability to consistently make kick after kick, as proven how he looked this past off-season. His problem is psychological, and the good news is, it's much easier obviously for kickers to cure that, then to learn how to be accurate, or have a stronger leg.

He better get it fixed, because I have a feeling Gase is not the type to have much patience with players that can't be counted on.

The last kicker I remember that we had where I didn't hold my breath was Mare!

Franks was easy to root for: like the Horatio Alger story for kickers. However, sentimentality only goes so far. IMO, it's time we started looking elsewhere and pull the trigger on anyone who can improve on that accuracy (with enough of a leg to also land kickoffs in the end zone)

Guys, I may have missed something, but what happened to that Kicker we had come in a few years ago? His last name was Potter, I really liked him, and thought he would be a great kicker.

I remember he got hurt, was it career ending, is he somewhere else or out of Football?

Olindo mare was the goat. If he had been on a grwatvteam he would've won some team a super bowl like Vinatieri.

Every one of Franks kicks looked true and had good trajectory last week. He may have figured it out. Remember he had to kick one or two of them twice IIRC

Unfortunately for him, before we all start feeling comfortable with him, he is going to have to prove he figured it out for the entire season, that is what comes with some horrible misses early.
