I was analyzing our current salary cap numbers, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. If you look at where we are now with the money we saved from trading Patrick Surtain and a few minor cuts or restructuring (David Bowens, Greg Jerman, Taylor Whitley, Derrius Thompson, Jeff Zgonina, etc) it wouldn't be difficult for us to be $10 million under the salary cap. That is without touching Zach, Jason or Mare's contracts.
Not only did we have an excellent draft, but it appears we should have some ammunition to pick up a few decent players after the draft, particularly the June 1 cuts. I don't expect any major pickups, but maybe 2 or 3 quality players that could help us.
