Analyzing the Dolphins' road schedule

I'll just never understand how Dolphin fans can predict losses. I just don't get it. Predicting a loss to the Steelers on opening night is a truly weak and pathetic view about your team. Just pathetic.....

No way we go .500 on Away games

We may have several unknowns, but so do the other teams. I don't see us losing to Pittsburgh or New England. With the potential we have at QB and our other offense weapons I don't care who starts at QB. Don't be suprised if Cleo Lemon starts week one!!!

I don't agree with a 10-6 record. I think will be 12-4 or better... The away record I think will be 5-3. I agree that the Dolphins have a greater chance of losing to the following teams:

Week One: Pittsburgh Steelers - Heinz Field will be rocking on September 7, as this battle kicks off the NFL's regular season. The question right now concerns whether the two teams' quarterbacks will be able to play. The Dolphins' signalcaller, Daunte Culpepper, is coming off of surgery from a horrific knee injury, while the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger is recovering from his famous motorcycle accident. It's hard to bet against the reigning Super Bowl Champs at home in the opener, though. "Big Ben" puts his motorcycle nonsense to rest. Steelers win 24-17.

Week Five: New England - It's round one of Belichick vs. Saban in this AFC East rivalry. Can the Dolphins go into Gillete Stadium and steal one? Tom Brady won't let it happen. Patriots win 16-13.

Week 17: Indianapolis Colts- Will this be a game where the well-oiled Indianapolis machine is just resting its players? Or will Peyton Manning be trying for another record and do whatever he can to reach it? Assuming the Colts have nothing to play for, the Dolphins should win. However, if this game matters, look for Manning to lead his team to victory. Colts win 34-24.

So every year you predict 16-0? The guy is trying to be realistic.

I say we will. I mean we are the only team to do it before.

I didn't see anything wrong with it although i'd maybe swap the Pats win and the Bills loss around. We're a 10-6 team with a shot at 11-5 IMO

This guy has us being swept by the Pats. :rolleyes2 Not gonna happen. I also think we'll beat the Steelers on opening day. Also don't see us losing to the Bills. We'll sweep the JEts and Bills and split with the Pats. It's not out of the question that we sweep the Pats. We've always given Brady a hard time and they have barely squeaked by us in the past several wins. I think we are just better than them now and that the trend will turn toward us now.

Week 15: Buffalo Bills - If the Bills are out of contention by this time, they'd love nothing more than to stun their main rival at what should be an active Ralph Wilson Stadium. While Gus Frerotte is no longer throwing interceptions in the end zone, and Ronnie Brown will likely hold onto the football this time, Culpepper will rear his ugly turnover machine head in a disappointing day for the Dolphins. Bills win 17-13.

Just as an FYI; I don't know that this guy is necessarily a Dolphin fan I think he is just a sports writer covering the Dolphins. Even if he is, I think he's just trying to be objective.
With all that said, the writer is merely going with fairly safe predictions. Picking us to lose against last year's SB champs, last year's division champ and last year's offensive juggernaut isn't exactly a stretch of a prediction. Me, I'm a homer and I believe we can win all 3 of those games-and the Bill's game, as well. But that's just me. My own opinion is that if Joseph Addai can't do his part to help sell the play action pass, the Colts may be in trouble this next season. Also the Steelers lost some key players. Bettis made a huge difference last year; he really did. He didn't have much in the ypc stat, but he was key to moving the chains and scoring in goal line situations. As for the Patriots....my homerism just tells me it's OUR TIME.

what sucks about this whole thing is that we probably won't get much respect either way. if we finish as a bottom-tier team, people will say that's because we have talent but didn't gel or because of injuries. if we finish a top-tier team, that's because we're suppose to be with a favorable sched. i hope we win some of those "big" games, especially the away ones to get some respect and get into the postseason.

Like someone else said, maybe this guy isn't a Dolphins fan. Maybe he's just a sports writer. But to answer your question, YES! every year I DO predict 16-0. Likely to happen?? No. Possible?? Sure. But Likely?? Hell no. But predicting losses to other teams before the season even starts is ridiculous. Sure, opening night, @ New england , and @ Indi is going to be tough. No question about it. I am, however, confident that we can win the games. If you don't think your team can win, why even watch??? Why even be a fan???
I'm always believing we can win every game we play. Unfortunately it doesn't always pan out but I know that I gave it my best as a fan.

I think 10-6 or 11-5 is reasonable. We could out perform that expectation but the wheels could fall off too. I'll be happy if we are in the division race until the very end though...we have a great chance to take it.

By the way, 10-6 may not be good enough for the Playoffs. KC was 10-6 last year and did not make it.

No way we lose to the Bills, otherwise his predictions look fairly appropriate. I sse us 10-6 or MAYBE 11-5 this year at best. Can't wait to find out!
