...and we've rebuilt the Offensive Line.

I don't really care what the 2024 numbers say to be honest. He was playing mostly with backup QBs. The guy next to him was bad. PFF had him in the 40s. Which is bad. We lost over 30 rushing yards per game after his injury. And I'm not big on PFF to begin with. I think they have some biases. He didn't go from holding his own against the best rushers in the game while being a very good run blocker to being the 80th best tackle in football. So, if that's what you're saying, I think what you're saying is pretty foolish.

If Jackson can be healthy, he is a C+- B-, and can become a solid B RT. I am cautiously optimistic that our OL will perform at a C+-B- level. That would be progress. As the youngsters gel, we have potential.

A

Why do you say he is 6’7” but his profile above says he is barely 6’0”?
Here he is, son. 6053 or 6'5 3/8", so I was off by just over an inch, going from memory.

Cool, now do his 2024 numbers which are lower. And like Chad was saying, average numbers.

Just so you don't have to his pass blocking grade was 60.1, ranked 82nd out of 140 T's. Run block grade of 64.3 ranked 57th out of 140. That is average.

I dont usually jump into conversations like this but these are the numbers. You can't spin these. Hopefully you don't attempt to anymore...
Even Armstead who missed two of the 4 Tua-less games at the beginning of the season only managed a 53 average in his last two games where Huntley started. So, our 89 rating LT is actually a 53 rated LT because that's what PFF said. That would put him below Jackson somewhere in the 100s. You can't judge him by the first 13 games he played? You don't think playing all 4 games with the backups affected Jackson's grade?

That's all I'm saying. Jackson is a good pass blocker and a great run blocker. We literally went from 130 rush yards per game to like 95 when he got hurt.

You don't care when it shows his average numbers because it doesnt prove your argument. Lol. Yeah who cares about 2024 numbers.

You have to factor in poor play around Jackson. This year he'll line up next to Jonah or Daniels, 2 tough players. We need to gel with this oline for a long time. Barring injuries they'll keep getting better. Replacing the Guards just upgraded our entire offense. Tua will have more time to throw and he'll have a decent running game to lean on. Ollie Gordon was a steal in the 5th round and I think fans will love this player. He always pushes the pile forward so he'll be key in short yardage where we've been so weak.

I don't care because the QB play and Mostert getting injured on the first play of the season greatly affected everyone on the line. Even Armstead in the last two games.

He averages 0.5 sacks per game man, thats not "good at pass blocking"

It's not just PFF grades
The last two seasons, he played 24 games. 16 in 2023 and 8 last season. During that time, he gave up 8 sacks. One every three games. 24 divided by 8 = 3. I only looked back at the last two seasons because they're the only times he played significant snaps at RT. In his first three seasons, though, he played in 32 games and allowed 6 sacks. That equals one every 5.3 games. So, if we use his entire career, we have 56 games and 14 sacks. Or one every 4 games.
That would be 0.25 sacks per game, man. Not 0.5. Lessens you kids have some sort of newfangled way of doing them ciphers I ain't aware of.

I meant because it doesn't prove your argument.

But anyway, sure thing bud.

I got two sacks in 2023 and 3 in 2024 when I looked.

With Jackson, there is one thing that is undebatable-- when he was lost, our running game promptly and completely died. You just can't minimize that, no matter how much you might want to do so. A quick footed, long Tackle is required for our zone based running attack. Lamm was a disaster in that area, and then his season ended with back surgery.

If Jackson returns at 100%, then we are MUCH better off than we were with Lamm. Period. There's just no way to logically deny this. (silly PFF scores are not nearly as important as the yards per game that we lost).

Now, if your argument is that we need a good swing Tackle... that can be debated. The 'phins like Kion Smith for the role. Maybe they're right, maybe they're not... we won't know til we see it.

PFF breaks them down like this for Ajax sacks over the last two seasons.
2023:
1 sack in Week 2, @NE.
1 in Week 12, @ NYJ
1 in Week 15 vs NYJ.
1 in Week 16 @BLT.
1 in WC @KC.
2024:
1 sack, in Week 1, vs JAX
1 sack in Week 2, vs BUF
1 sack in Week 9, @BUF
