I was searching ESPN.com and Sportingnews.com for the list of free agent LB's and saw Andre Carter, 7th pick in 2001 draft. He came out of college as a DE and switched to OLB last year when Nolan took over. I read his profile and it said this...
He sounds like a Saban OLB to me. Is there any news as to if Carter will actually be let go to test the market, or will he be re-signed before free agency starts?
This guy, IMO, should be a target.

He has perfected his pass rush technique and has great use of counter moves to come back inside. He works hard with his hands and it is difficult for offensive linemen to lock on and stay locked on. He uses his long arms to create and keep separation and he always plays with great leverage. He always has his feet under him and he can accelerate on his second and third step and has great closing speed to the quarterback. He plays with a high energy level and is relentless in pursuit. His speed and quickness lend themselves very well to stunts and twists and he seems to have good instincts on the edge and has a nose for the football. He does not have ideal upper and lower body strength and has a difficult time maintaining control of the line of scrimmage verses the run game. He plays low and maintains good leverage but has trouble with double teams and the run game in general.
