When they did show some of the game I saw that great defense in the redzone that Goodman put up.Now what did he look like the rest of the game?

Seriously.... I know this sounds a bit explicit but I couldn't find a more fitting analogy: He was on receivers like a condom on a youknowwhat. He's as good as I expected him to be. :yes:

What? Our first team defense gave up 1 play the entire quarter, albeit a long touchdown. Aside from that play (Matt Jones burning Will Allen), the entire first team defense was excellent. Mind you, Jason Allen isn't playing with the first team unit yet, and we're missing Travis Daniels & Jason Taylor.

Dre Goodman looks very solid so far.

Andre played well, i also liked w. allen, but later in the game when our backups started playing they looked horrible. We gave up four huge plays because of mental lapses in the secondary.

Will Allen looked good other than that 1 play where he got toasted. He rebounded from that well, but it's still unacceptable to get burned like that when the rest of the unit is playing so well (hopefully, this doesn't happen often at all during the regular season). But the 4th stringers you're referring to......none of those guys will make the team. :)

:yes: I agree with you, i was there. I also think that on that long play to matt jones, w. allen should have had safety help. I also understand that once trav starts playing and j. allen learns the defense we will be much better in the secondary. I was trying to say that our backups played badly ,imo.

I think we beat Tampa 24-10.We wont get burned like we did.Jags have great WR's and it doesnt help when Gerrad plays like a 1st string.I think we will go 2-2 this preseason.I hope Goodman keeps up his defense next week.

Don't kid yerself Jag's don't have great WRs

Matt Jones is a special talent but has yet to develope. Wilford isn't a solid #2. Jimmy Smith retiring really hurts their WR Core. Plus they did drop alot of passes that were on the mark, the D doesn't get that kind of help most weeks of the Reg Season.

Anyways I think our secondary will be much improved next week if TD can play also J. Allen will get more snaps in camp. Goodman looks good at the nickle slot and we have alot of depth at Safety IMO. That gives us enough to have a Solid Secondary come Reg Season. Hopefully everyone stays healthy, and maybe one of our depth guys can step up next week.

That TD to Jones was against a combination of 1st and 2nd team defense. Will Allen should have had help on that deep post.
There was no safety to be found on that play. Jason Allen was out of position I believe
