For my fellow NBA fans out there...

I'm a huge fan of an NBA team in Florida. But it's not the one you think. It's the one that needs a big center in the middle...

The Orlando Magic.

Now, this kid (and yes, he really is a kid), a 17 year old from New Jersey, Andrew Bynum. He is 7 feet tall and weighs 300 pounds, and is not just a big body in the lane. He's got skills. He averaged 22, almost 23 points a game on his high school team.

He's eligible for the draft coming up in a week. Now, you all know that the NBA draft is based on potential. It's "what can you do for me in 3-4 years..."

I want to know why this kid isn't being considered as a top 3 pick. The size, skills and youth should make him a consideration for a top 3 pick. Something is missing here.
What is it???

If he is there at the 11 spot, I would love for the Magic to take him. Could you see if this kid develops thuroughly and truly blossoms?

Could you see Dwight Howard (future SUPERstar) at 25 and Bynum at 23 playing next to each other?

Shades of Tim Duncan and David Robinson, except 3 times more athletic.

Do you guys think this would be a good fit for my Magic? If you were Bryan Hill and the front office, who would you take?

There's been talk that the Magic may move Howard to the center position.
I would'nt mind leaving Howard at PF and drafting Bynum to anchor the middle.

You a Magic fan too?

Woohoo!

I would prefer to leave Howard at the 4. His abilities will be ENDLESS there. I wish the Magic would just get a big heavy body to man the middle to go with Howard.

I would love to see the lineup as:

C- SOMEBODY! (anybody big and can play Defense)
PF- Dwight Howard
SF- Grant Hill
SG- Steve Francis
PG- Jameer Nelson

With the key bench players being: Hedo Turkoglu, Doug Christie, Tony Battie and Pat Garrity.

I know Bynum wouldn't come in right away and fill that C position at 17 years old, but for the future his potential is endless.

Well the magic still have a huge need at SF...especially since Grant Hill hasnt proven he can stay healthy! The reason Bynum is rated higher is cause you only pointed out his strengths and none of his weaknesses

Hes not a good shooter...though being a huge guy he doesnt use his size to his advantage...Not a good freethrow shooter...Makes alot of mental errors that arent really shown cause hes playing highschool ball.

The kids a humongous risk imo even though i love his size! The magic will stay at #11 overall and grab Danny Granger giving them another foward that should be able to start this year and pair up with Dwight Howard!

BTW...I'm a huge huge huge fan of Jameer Nelson!!!

Didn't Grant Hill prove he's back this past season? I kept up with the team the whole year and he seemed to do fine to me.

I know Bynum isn't a good shooter, and such, but like I said, He's 17!!! With good coaching and time, imagine what he could become.

...and if they don't take Bynum at 11, I see them taking Martel Webster instead of Granger. That would give them another shooting guard and an outside shot presence.

I love the future of Jameer Nelson at the PG.

Almost every mock draft has Webster going to us at 11.
I hope they unload Christy, he is one big baby. My son and I met Howard a couple of months ago in a shoe store in Orlando. Real cool and friendly.
I shook his hand and he had a GI Joe kung fu grip.

Grant still got injured...hes inconsistent at staying healthy sorry

Webster right now is guarenteed to be a top 8 pick [Knicks love this kid] so if the magic dont move up...them picking webster at 11 is very unlikely! At 11 like i said the pick will be Danny Granger or if by some miracle of a chance channing frye slips then they would take him or if Chris Taft proves enough to this club then you could see him there

Yeah, I'm so excited about Dwight Howard. I think he is the next Kevin Garnett.

How many years do we have him signed through?

I would think at least 4.
Do you think Mario Kasun will develop into a solid center for us?
I wish we would have held onto Zaza Pachulia.

I think Kasun can come in and give some cheap fouls for when we play the Heat. Other than that, I don't see him scoring much.

God, I wish we had a big, dominant center still. This team would be awesome.

You know we drafted Brendan Haywood and got rid of him? :shakeno:

they thought steven hunter would evolve as a center. what a mistake
