You think after that kick in Buffalo his confidence is up? Going forward are you guys comfortable with him now kicking? I think that was a big morale booster for him. I can see him getting better. Any thoughts? I remember the past few years, kicker was one of our problems. Nice to not hear that for a change(I know we have bigger holes). Usually, people would mention our needs then a kicker at the end haha.

CHEERS!

I would bring competition for him and let the best man win.

He did make that kick, which probably saved our post-season chances, but he's pretty inconsistent so if we can improve the position, we should do it.

dreadful player. Made a good kick v the Bills tho

He was solid on extra points. He seemed to improve towards the end of season. I just don't believe Gase has any trust in him to kick 50 yarders. He can do it just not consistently. Rather have someone we can depend on instead of punting on a short field.

I'm all for bringing in competition.

While that buffalo kick is my avatar, I do believe we could use an upgrade at the position. Unfortunately I see the kicker market as almost a complete crapshoot. No one really knows how these guys will perform when the pressure is on. Look at the rookie the Bucs drafted. Was supposed to be as close to a sure thing kicker that has come out in a decade. So much so that they spent a high pick on him and he contributed a questionable season to say the least.

Another example of high profile kickers ending up chumps is the nugent kid that the Jets drafted a while ago.

I guess I think we could upgrade but hesitate to suggest a replacement. It's a crapshoot

I am no expert, but you can just tell when a form is good or bad....like a good golf swing. He looks a bit all over the place. I would definitely bring in some competition!

There was no one more shocked than me when Franks made the long kick against Buffalo. He came up big that day! Still think we can do better, and I'm sure he'll have competition in camp.

Wow. Hadn't realised that. Very telling stats. His body language is awful - doesn't look born for that job and doesn't have consistent mechanics.

I won't lie, I didn't even consider them kicking the field goal in that situation with 4th and 1. My mind just automatically went to go for it with a quick QB sneak and spike the ball. Its funny how conditioned us fans become to not relying on players in clutch moments
