Andrew Luck on Jim Rome Show

When the season started I was worried BUF would draft him I never thought we had a chance so I didn't want him in our division I thought we would get a chance at Landry or Barkley - I would be ecstatic to draft him but if not at least he is not in the AFC East - because I think he is money - I think this crop of QBs to be good but he is stand out

Mr. Luck - Most of us fans are sticking with our team, even though our team has basically given us zero reason to for many years. Us 'true' fans don't want to lose on purpose, we want to lose for a purpose, and that purpose is to draft you.
That is the best thought out response to all those who question our loyalty to our team. I applaud you sir.

If he wins the heisman and another BCS bowl what else would he really have to prove in college?
even if he didnt win heisman and bcs bowl, what would he really have to gain?

his stock is as high as it ever will be, hes a lock to go first overall, you cant get higher than that. the only thing that can happen if he went back was him suffering a major injury hurting his stock. his stock wont get higher than it is now.

General question:

Assuming we draft Luck with the first pick, what positions would you draft in rounds 2-7?

We have a lot of holes to fill, beginning with oline Guard and Tackle, TE and WR's.

I would model it similar to the format of Atlanta's 2008 draft....excellent year for them.

1st round - Franchise QB
2nd round - G/LB
3rd round - CB or SS (because Sean Smith sucks, Bell is getting old and inefficient, and Clemons/Jones isn't working out)

If one is still there by our second rounder, grab either his TE (Fleener) or his guard (DeCastro). It'll fix a problem and help him feel at home.

He would be coming in a good situation if we are without Sparano, Daboll, and Jeff Ireland. If those guys are out of here with a real front office then he would be having a pretty good offensive line. That is if we start adding guys that can play the position this off-season with the right coaching staff. He would be having a pretty darn good receiver at Marshall as well.

We'll also have free agency to potentially find a TE or Safety. We'll see. We may use FA on the O-line. Long and Pouncey are obviously great, we need some mediocre ones that we don't overspend on. Right now the other ones are just bad, not even mediocre.
