RED: Teams that do not need a QB

In Week 4, the Dolphins gained the lead in the Andrew Luck race by falling to the San Diego Chargers and having the Chiefs (another QB hungry team) win a game. We have 2 new contenders to the race, the Eagles and Browns, but I don't expect them to stay in the race for long. (There are other 2-2 teams, but I would have to add half the league to the list if I added them, so I only added the Browns to the list since their 2 wins came against weak teams)

It is looking good for the Dolphins in the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes. With a much more difficult schedule than the other contenders, look for the Dophins to stay in the pole position throughout the season. The Dolphins' main competition for the services of the Anointed One continues to be the Indianapolis Colts. We will be keeping a close eye on the winless Colts on MNF.

That difficult schedule could come back to haunt us though right? Isn't the first tiebreaker in the draft for non-playoff teams strength of schedule? Hopefully we win this outright.

Every team you highlighted minus Philly, Arizona, Carolina and probably St. Luis would still take Luck.

I don't buy that... Each of those teams invested a high pick in a QB last season. It would serve them better to trade the pick for a king's ransom. The Bengals like what Dalton is doing for them and are notoriously cheap. They too would rather have the picks.

Cam Newton signed a four year deal for $22 million. Sam Bradford signed a year earlier for six years $78 million. First overall picks are no longer a burden to teams, even ones with cheap owners. It would have to be a major offering for teams to even consider moving down.

Don't be surprised if we make a serious move for Palmer before the start of next season. Don't know what that would do to whether we draft a first round QB but I believe we will go after Palmer.

ok....you guys are making a HUGE assumption....you are assuming that we would draft Luck. There is only ONE way we draft Luck and one way only....that is if we "earned" have the #1 pick overall. And I dont like the odds on that. This team has shown year after year that it doesnt do what it has to do in order to win. If we do not have the #1 pick overall they WILL NOT be smart enough or aggressive enough to make the move up to #1.

If the Dolphins were in the Top 5 with a team like Jacksonville or Minnesota owning the 1st pick, the Dolphins would be in great position to give an attractive trade offer. I would give the full draft + a player for Luck. Those teams would take it.

There will be a completely different regime in place next season. We have no idea how they will operate. However, I do know this, the fans will be VERY vocal to the Front Office about the need to draft Luck. If they don't pay attention to that, their regime could be over before it even begins...

LOL no. Palmer is no better than Henne at this point.
