Sparano indicated that a shake-up was coming at right guard where Ike Ndukwe and Evan Mathis has been sharing snaps. The running game has stalled over the past three weeks, and Sparano hinted that veteran lineman Andy Alleman might man that spot Sunday against the Seahawks.

"No, probably not quite the level I'd like to see,'' Sparano said of the play of Ndukwe and Mathis. "They're young guys playing at that position [who] right now are probably not playing fast enough for me right now. They're getting better. I see progress. I see improvement from both of them. We're kind of going to mix that whole deal up a little bit. We'll see how that goes.''/QUOTE]

Seems like Miami is trying to find a solution to their Running game. Apparently Sparano is not happy at all with the running game and might starting plugging in lineman to see if the right side of the line can open some holes. Hopefully we can find a solution soon.

Losing Donald Thomas hurt our run game alot, so hopefully Alleman can come in and succeed. Getting Cramer back soon won't hurt either.

That's why we picked up that other OT today.............Brandon Frye.

Great, just read about Smiley on practicing today. I hope he's ok

Alot of people do not give Cramer his due and the truth is that since he has been out his presence has been missed. Granted Polite has gotten us to big 1st downs but his run blocking is average. Cramer is the better RB, both our excellent ST. Also Miami needs to start using an unbalance line more often it seem to have helped in the past.

it did b/c hte holes we had during preseason on that side was amazing. it all went away after he left. take out snee or andrew from the giants or philly and see if the game is the same. or hutchinson for example. Thing is, thomas would engage or push someone back these guys engage n fall backwards during the process or dont evne engage.

btw Cramer was a great blocker. he made some awesome blocks during those 2 weeks. from teh 3rd down run vs SD to get the 1st adn finish the game to the TD runs out of the wildcat. just watch film, the man made awesome blocks.

Indeed. We were doing very well running with Cramer at FB, since his injury our running game has been AWOL.

amazing how a few weeks ago some people were praising our guard play and the coach see differant.

good, alleman is our best backup OLman IMO...

too bad mathis hasnt maximized his oppertunity.. he used to start for the panthers, a whole season i believe.. and was a 3rd round pick only 3 years ago...

Ndukwe makes nice blocks in the open field and on the edge.. but he has been poor off the snap and with runs up the middle... he gets dominated by DT's... but good against LB's on the edge... not what Sparano is lookin for...

i think Ndukwe is a solid backup, and if anyone goes down he is versatile enough to finish a game... but it's obvious we need to draft some more OLmen this offseason...
alleman if you remeber had 16 teams claim him off the saints practice squad, and since we had first dibs we nipped him, i've been waiting for his debut, see what this giant can do..

i bet he looks awesome against the seahawks and raiders... hopefully that build his confidence to start at RG and play well the rest of the season

What happened to Shawn Murphy? He was drafted ahead of Donald Thomas.

Our pass blocking improved a lot this year but our new guys have yet to prove they can run block- and thats going all the way back to week 1 against the jets. We freed up some room with the wildcat but that was just a temporary fix.

it will take another offseason and draft to solve that (unless they stumble on a gem out there that can pass block AND run block at guard.

And i also think we need to remember the preseason is not a guage on how a player will turn out. In the preseason I was counting on Ginn running back 3 for touchdowns by midseason.

In preseason i also thought they had not improved pass blocking at all.

Both counts were way off.

Basically, they will let anyone in their other than Shawn Murphy.

I would not be surprised if he is gone sooner than later.
