Andy Cohen: Henne showed plenty, just couldn't outplay Brady

no one, including the Dolphins coaching staff thought Henne would outplay Brady

so Marino couldn't outplay Montana in the superbowl back in 84 either?......what a bunch of bull.....Henne played their defence and Brady played ours(or should I say, the lack of)....people are idiots every time they make it seem like the QB's are playing each other when in reality they're playing the other team's defence.Henne had to do it with no running game and running for his life(was sacked 4 times and hit many more) while Brady had time to read the paper all night and then pass it to a WIDE OPEN TE in just about every play. Give me a break!!

Ozzy rules!!

Id argue he actually played better when u consider Brady had much better protection and a threat of a running game. Factor in Henne ran for 59 yards. The media will never admit it but what Henne did was more impressive. Henne did miss on a few throws, mainly fades in the endzone that Brady likely makes but Brady was completing a lot of easy throws as well. His weapons should get more credit.

not only that but you take away(I know you can't)that "99" yard pass to Welker and Henne and Brady would have both trown for 416 yards.......not saying Henne's as good as Brady as he never will be but to say Brady out played Henne makes no sense.....if Henne had played our defence he'd have passed for 500 yards too.

Thanks for posting but to be honest i can't stand reading Andy Cohen's stuff. The guy is paid to write propaganda on the Dolphins site.

He'll take a 41-0 loss and write about sunshine and roses.

Bottom line.... Brady made the throws count (points)... and Henne didn't... for those that are encouraged by the Henne numbers... baseball season is still on.....

There's no shame in being out played by the best in the game. I give credit to Henne for a very good game on his part. It wasn't great though. Brady's was.

Not so much as Henne out playing Brady...for one our oline was worse then theirs we could not even get close enough to even
smell Tom they got what 4 sacks on Chad because we still have Columblow and Carey struggling on the right side their D created more pressure then ours not to mention we could not even make a tackle to save our lives if Sapp did not miss that tackle on Welker who knows what would have happened, they also have two power backs to help wear down our D.If our defense could have helped bail us out a few series who knows we could have pulled out a W or it would have been a closer game then what it was.

haha....Yes, on the homer to hater scale Andy is always closer to the homer side. He has a way of being a homer without really looking like one though. He always finds ways to be positive without making things up. I like that

Think you're off here. The real test of a QB in this offense is what he does inside the 20. The system will inflate any half-decent QB's numbers. Numbers aren't the point. Some of the RZ play calling was bad - some horrendous. But Henne's game lacked (and will almost certainly always lack) the precision of Brady's, and as a result, he was much less successful inside the 20.

Fair enough, but I think considering the time Brady had and the mismatches Henne was just as impressive. Sure Brady is more accurate and Henne wasn't perfect but he literally carried us and for a guy who most fans ignorantly thought was the only guy holding us back from a Super Bowl team really says something. It helps if u can run in the redzone. With any competent o line we put up 35 on them. We missed out on 11 pts because we couldn't run 1 yard.
