Andy Cohen: Henne showed plenty, just couldn't outplay Brady

not only that but you take away(I know you can't)that "99" yard pass to Welker and Henne and Brady would have both trown for 416 yards.......not saying Henne's as good as Brady as he never will be but to say Brady out played Henne makes no sense.....if Henne had played our defence he'd have passed for 500 yards too.

Ozzy rules!!

Seemed to me that a lot of Henne's yards came in garbage time when the Patriots were playing prevent defense. Usually the QB with the most yardage in a game loses because they are throwing a ton to try and keep up. I dont think any rational person on Earth could say Henne outplayed Brady on Monday night.

Fair enough, but I think considering the time Brady had and the mismatches Henne was just as impressive. Sure Brady is more accurate and Henne wasn't perfect but he literally carried us and for a guy who most fans ignorantly thought was the only guy holding us back from a Super Bowl team really says something. It helps if u can run in the redzone. With any competent o line we put up 35 on them. We missed out on 11 pts because we couldn't run 1 yard.

He looked better than he ever has. It was a step forward - or just him finally getting a shot at running a 21st century offense (probably a combination of the two). It's too early to say, though, whether or not Henne has the necessary tools to take us to that next level. This isn't meant to seem too critical - I was very happy with his game overall - but that game wasn't good enough. It's not his fault we lost. There were many factors. But playing like that, Henne will never be a QB we can count on for 25 to 35 points in any given game (the way you can the elite QB's). I expect Henne to put up gaudy stats in this system. I think he's good enough to do that, and we've seen the system help average QB's like Orton put up big numbers, but Orton never scored a ton of points in the system, because he lacks the precision and physical ability to make the necessary throws to consistently score TD's in the Red Zone. Henne has the arm strength, but until he improves his accuracy in tight quarters, we'll need an ELITE D to compete with the big boys. I do agree that his line wasn't doing him any favors, but he left points on the field. He also has to start giving Marshall a chance to go after jump balls. Too many times, we see him overthrow Marshall on the deep ball against 1-on-1 coverage. That's inexcusable. Give him a chance to make a play.

Who cares about who did who's job on the field. Brady threw a freaking 99 yard strike because our defense scheme was horrible. The only one who didn't see this touchdown pass was Mike Nolan himself. Why in the hell are you going to blitz in a play like that? Let this die already, Andy Cohen is nothing but an idiot who has nothing else to post much like any moron that is given a keyboard and a freaking computer.

Either way you look at it, just the fact that this discussion involves Henne being anywhere close to Brady is a huge step forward for Henne and the Dolphins.

The biggest difference was Brady made the clutch plays when his team needed them while Miami stalled out twice in the red zone. I'm not putting that all on Henne, it is a team sport, but that is where the Dolphins need to step up. You don't get to the 1 yard line twice and only walk away with 3 points. The great teams make those plays and come away with a TD.

We couldn't run the ball and that killed us dead. N.E. was able to run the ball when it needed to and we weren't. We stunk in the red zone because our o-line got zero push. They couldn't create running lanes on crucial plays. We couldn't even get a yard when it was needed. Henne had the best game of his life. HE PLAYED GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! No help from the defense or the o-line in the running game made it very hard to win this game. Brady was great. I hate the guy but I have to give him the credit he deserves. Last thought- we were outcoached by BB. Not even close in that department.
