Anger Management

I don't think it'll matter much to the team. It was probably a good thing for Wanny to vent - he's definitely a candidate for an aneurism or stroke. I don't see this team winning many games no matter what. I think they have the potential to get better but the psyche and kharmic direction of the team is headed down.

If my boss was giving me an inspirational speech, and dropped the props... and totally goofed his point, I think I'd have a hard time respecting him as well.

Well they say the team takes on the personality of its coach, so you COULD see a more intense, aggressive team out there this week. Then again, if the players believe they can't get there with DW at the helm, it probably don't matter much anyway.

I can't see how the D could be any more intense or aggressive than they already have been. I noticed the o-line seemed to play better after McMike lost it on them. Maybe that's what they need. If the line plays well tonight it will restore a lot of faith in our season.

about damn time Wanny did something to that effect. It may be to late (although I don't think it is) but at least he finally opened up his yap. He should of been doing it to the O Line on the sideline Sunday night, instead of letting McMichael's do his job. Either way though it's about time Wanny started acting like Bill Parcells, to get his message across.

ya but according to Wanstetd:

This week, Wannstedt said his main concern with McMichael's behavior was the tone of what he said.

''He can be enthused, but let's be positive about it. Let's do things that build the team up. Randy and I talked about it, but the helmet thing, and he would be the first one to agree, that's not helping anybody,'' Wannstedt said.

the best quote from the whole article:

Such as the time last year when Wannstedt spoke to the team and used a basket and four props, a family photo, a Bible, a football and a brick with the word ''distractions'' on it.

Wannstedt's point was that if you concentrate on family, faith and football, everything would fit neatly in the basket. Add the ''distractions'' and it doesn't fit.

Nice message, but when Wannstedt fumbled with the props and couldn't get everything back in the basket, it was a comedic flop.

When Wannstedt put the basket and the props in the locker room, one prominent player threw them away in disgust.

you have to be kidding me.... that is some lame ****! :roflmao:

Wanstetd has lost all credibility with me. Wanstetd threw a rant, but it's a one time thing....His coaching personality isn't the type that will be ranting all the time (like Bill Parcells)...When the media ask questions, he'd rather not talk to them or act like everything is ok and make excuses for the teams performance, rather then to express his frustration with the team publicly in the press conference (like Herman Edwards, Mike Ditka & Bill Parcells)...

texasphinsfan...meet our coach.. :roflmao:

this part of the article really bothered me....
LOYALTY
Where Johnson might cut a player at a seemingly odd time, such as backup running back Curvin Richards just before the 1992 playoffs, Wannstedt is a guy who believes loyalty will be repaid.
That's why he stuck behind wide receiver Derrius Thompson last season even when Thompson made mistake after mistake.
''I've just always believed that if you stand behind guys, they're going to work hard for you,'' Wannstedt said during the offseason.

I don't understand what good it does to throw a rant after a game in a locker room. If Wanny is going to show some "fire," do it during the game. Get in someone's face during the game. He also should say nothing to the DEFENSE...they have done their jobs. He needs to get his players, especially his offensive lineman together on the sidelines and give them a collective *** chewing. I just hope there is a coaching change, and it would not be terrible to fire Wanny THIS YEAR.

I think it's good that Dave gave this team a "kick in the ***". Dave is not the worst coach in NFL history like many Dolfans make him out to be. Dave is a great defensive mind, but not a great head coach, very similar to say a Gregg Williams, Norv Turner, Ray Rhodes coach- they're good coaches, just not good head coaches. Maybe this tirade will get this team going in the right direction. I'm positive that if Wayne knew Ricky was quitting at the end of the season the coaching staff would've been overhauled.

Dave should express his anger on the field not just pat the offending players as they come out after a bonehead play or run his fingers through his hair.Players take notice when their Coach gets in their faces.
