A nice summary article at profootballtalk site. Brees was pissed that the Phins passed up on him. I strongly believe that is better for us than a calm Brees.

We want him to try and throw and take big risks and hopefully our secondary can pick up some interceptions.

There will be at least two picks this weekend. A gentle and calm Brees is more dangerous. A QB needs to be calm and clearheaded.

We need to win one for the fans who endured Saban and Cameron; endurance based on hope and no data to support such hope.

When we just thought Saban was bad, then comes Cam Cameron who makes Saban look like a genius.

Hope Bree is pissed off and throws at least 2 interceptions and makes us forget the Saban and Cameron era.

Brees is a professional who prepares hard each week. I seriously don't see him forcing the ball just to make a point. Now he does take risks, but in most cases, he enjoys the reward too. I think he will be forced to throw the ball because you guys have a stout run defense, but he enjoys the challenge.

I bet Drew Brees is actually kind of liking that the Saints fans are calling him "Breesus" (as in Jesus) these days.

He probably has the keys to New Orleans these days. He can probably get the best tables at restaurants without waiting, free dinners and other little perks. That's what tends to happen with star NFL QBs. I'm sure Marino got the red carpet treatment in Miami when he was playing. Still does probably.

dude wtf, we didnt have the cap room to offer what the saints did and mueller and saban intercepted brees at the airport when he was in NO and tried to get him to sign with us because saban knew he wouldnt leave NO. EVEN when our doctors said no, Saban still tried with all he could to get him. So **** off its not even like that and I hate people that don't know about this and think we just didnt want him.

Ehhh, don't think so...from last year....

"Drew Brees went 30-for-41 for 339 yards and three touchdown passes against his former team to lead the Saints to a 37-32 win over the Chargers..."

Not talking smack. I think the Dolphins and Falcons pose the biggest challenges on our schedule (yes, even considering the Pats who we get in the Dome on a Monday night) and the Saints will have their hands full if we can't get up by at least two scores by the mid-3rd quarter. You have lots of reasons to be confident about pulling a victory but counting on an emotional Brees is not one of them.....

I really don't think Brees dislikes you guys in any way. He knows you guys wanted him and things happened and he ended up with us....Thats all. He holds no grudge against y'all. I think he will always hold some grudge against the Chargers , but he'll never admit it. But I seriously doubt he blames you guys or is angry with you.
Good luck to you guys sunday and please don't wildcat us to death.

The shouldn't have a grudge against us, we made a medical decision and he knows we regret it. Now SD is a different story, dumping him for a younger QB when Brees had done nothing but excel there. SD might actually have a ring right now if Brees was still there!

if brees was so pissed that means he really wanted to come to miami and not new orleans

I can't imagine him holding much of a grudge at this point.

Agreed. That was several years ago now. I could understand if it was the following season but its not. He's had alot of success there in NO. He's slinging the ball all over the place, he's taken his team to an NFC Championship game and his team is undefeated going into week 7 this season. I actually like Brees but if he's bitter after all that....efff him.

We obviously had a choice. Saban just ruined it like he ruined everything else.

Uh we had no choice. Our franchise was a mess, Brees was just using the Dolphins' pathetic offer as leverage. He didn't want to be in the Dolphins', his mind was made up to be in New Orleans. After he went there, we had no choice but to sign Culpepper or stay with Gus. I think we would have been better off with Gus.
