November 14th, 1993 was day. Shula coached the Dolphins in Philadelphia to his 325th victory and surpassed George Halas.
He did this with a 2nd string QB because Marino was out for the season. During the game our 2nd string QB went down.
The 3rd string QB and team won the game for Shula. The dude could coach.

Congrats Don!

How fitting that tonight the NFL network has A Football Life - A Perfect Backfield on tonight.

Go Dolphins!

Bellicheat is still 122 victories behind him at 225. I don't think Brady has another 100 victories in him. LOL.

I was at that game.

Doug Petersen was the "winning" QB that day...
He was also the first ever QB to throw a 2pt conversion a few years later in a pre-season game.

Cool. That had to be awesome!

I ended up getting a nice 5x8 picture of him being carried off the field from when I subscribed to Dolphins Digest.
Eventually I got him to sign the picture at the Grand -opening of Shula's 2 at an Omni hotel, right near Newark airport.

The place has been closed for a long time.

Lombardi was a great coach, but Don Shula did it better for a longer period of time.

I remember winning the next 2 to get to 9-2 on thanksgiving. Then the injuries caught up to us and the bottom fell out.
Had to be weird for Shula. He was on top of the world and 2 months later part of worst collapse in history.
I guess you have to take the bad with good.
