Dave Hyde: Dolphins are lost from top on down

Last week, a Dolphins player said (a) everyone on the team knows tackle Wade Smith can't play a lick, a fact again underscored by Cincinnati; (b) this offensive line might be worse than last year -- even though four of last year's linemen aren't in the league anymore -- and (c) second-year linebacker Eddie Moore is only on the team as an unheard-of eighth linebacker so as not to cause another public relations storm for Wannstedt, who wasted a second-round pick on him.

"It's a joke," the player said.

If the Bils weren't 0-2 as well, I certainly would be :rofl: at y'all. But, I'm clearly not in a position to do so :(
 
I love it when our players speak the truth...and i beleive everything that was said there, I know Wannstetd is idiotic enough to pull something like that on our team...waste a roster spot just so he wont look bad...he did it with J. Fletcher for a couple of years.
 
Maybe Jay Williams wasn't kidding early in camp when he said that Dan Goodspeed was blocking as well as Smith, except it wasn't that Goodspeed was doing that good, it was just that they both stunk equally.

Also, since Corey Jenkins was waived, Moore is now the 7th LBer. Too bad about Jenkins, he looked better than Moore or Bua to me. Moore though, in his defense, is basically not much more than a rookie himself, since he got hurt in the first preseason game last year and lost the entire season. I think it is a little early to say how good, or bad, he can be.

well ill tell you one thing, not having a chance to show how good or bad you can be after 1+ Football year in this league is bad already.
 
Yeah, I think we need to be a little more patient with Eddie Moore. Wade Smith, though... ugh. He seemed like he did OK last year, but now...caramba.
How much credit Wannstedt deserves for this mess is debatable, but regardless, someone (or someones plural) is going to have a bit of a mess to fix after this year.

You can laugh Clump, Fin fans aren't used to this crap you guys are. So we deserved to be laughed at. :lol:
 
Even our best lineman is new to the system J. James and they need time together...it will get better. How much ? I have no idea, but does anyone else seem to think that our o-line coach is horrible even if we had talent. I honestly think DW made a mistake by letting Larry Beightol go. He did well with what we had under Jimmy, and is now a very good o-line coach for the packers. Another example of Wanny putting his big fat stamp on the team and making it worse.
 
PhinPhreak, has CircleWagons mentioned anything about your sig, and the comment he made way back when?

Anyway of replacing the line coach? Or does that not happen in the middle of the season? Can't they fire him and promote someone else?

Seems Dave is taking a play well or pack you bags approach, that needs to extend to the coaches as well because the fins look like high schoolers sometimes.
