Ive said it before and I will say it again, after 2 drafts and 2 off seasons of them being able to bring in free agents...

  • Still need a whole new linebacking core
  • Old at NT position, nothing in store there for the future
  • Need to overhaul safeties
  • Need #1 and #2 receivers
  • $150 million oline that cant pass block
  • No TE's
Our young corners look good, our 2 young ends look like they are going to be good but arent cemented as the guys for next 5-7 years as of yet, young qb looks good and like everything about him he just has no weapons.

The whole philosophy of this regime is a problem. It looks a lot like the Wannstedt era. No skill guys, average at best defense, run run run, play field position, control the clock and hope to squeak one out in the 4th. Parcells got a hard on from last weeks game. 2 special teams tds, a defensive td and hold them on 4th down when they are going in for the win in the final minute, thats how he wants to win game in and game out. They refuse to go out and get guys that will put point on the board quickly.

Every time we play a good qb with good skill guys we get beat and cant hold a lead. That is the difference between last year and this year. Last year we didnt play or beat good qbs, we always got the seneca wallace's and saun hill's of the world. And we only had 13 turnovers the whole season which may never happen again. This is a big problem with this regime. He thinks its 87 and he has the Giants defense that plays lights out and refuses to see its a whole new era where you need the guys who are a threat to go 70 yards on any given play. But I am affraid he wont change from this thinking and next year will be more of the same.

I dont want to hear he is going to go out and draft a receiver because you dont know what you are going to get and those guys usually take a couple years to develop. He needs to go out and trade picks for a proven guy or open up the check book and sign one via free agency. I cant back up the whole "We are stock piling picks and shouldnt trade them" when we are drafting Pat White in the 2nd round to be a gimmick qb when we could have made a play for a guy like Brandon Marshall or Chad Johnson.

We also need to add RB to the list of needs in the next 2-3 years. Ronnie will be hitting 30s and Ricky will be retired.

I see what you're saying but..let's be realistic. Our WR just don't catch the ****ing ball. We were in the game until the last 2 minutes. Our WR's can't catch, period.

If Henne had some real WR's to throw two we would have a few more wins this year.

Thats the point!
Big time players/playmakers/receivers MAKE PLAYS and dont continually DROP PASSES. They catch a 7 yard slant and go 70, they go up and take the ball from the db, they put fear into the defense and make them game plan for them... we dont have that. Wehave guys that cant gt open consistently and cant routinely make plays on balls that arent perfectly thrown. We have a bunch of 3's and 4's playing receiver. Hartline and Camarillo would be fine with a #1 and #2. Bess and Ginn can go. Bess is 5'8, slow, tries to juke people but ends up staying in one place, and is inconsistent catching the ball.

Look at the guys who have been critical in beating us this year:
Brady/Moss/Welker
Bress/All his skill guys
Peyton Manning/Dallas Clark/rest of their skill guys
Rivers/Gates/V. Jackson

We have NONE OF THAT! Thats why year in and year out those teams contend.

Even the Ravens who have had a good defense since 00, look at when they have had to go up against teams that can put points on the board the last few year sint he playoffs...they cant hang with them especially when those teams can play defense as well. I am tired of getting Front Offices in here who are content with running the ball and trying to play lights out defense with an average at best defense and thus neglect the QB and skill position guys. Now I really like Henne, but he is not in a position to succeed week in and week out because we dont have guys that can get open consistently or make plays if he does not hit them in the numbers every time.
