another lemonhead article

It would be nice if he could put up a performance like that in a regular season game. Good find.

The problem I have with your sig is it is obvious why Tampa Bay picks up Tim Rattay and we pick up Cleo Lemon.

Tampa Bay HAS two young pup quarterbacks they are trying to develop (mostly Simms) and they needed a stable veteran who had "been there and done that"

Miami has that stable veteran, nobody has "been there and done that" more than Gus Frerotte. So even should we decide to start the younger Sage Rosenfels, Gus still serves as that stabilizing force as Sage's backup. What we needed was another young pup with potential...and that is exactly what Cleo Lemon is.

Its not so much a statement about this year as it is about this organization's inability to find a QB since Marino. As I said the more I read the more hope I have that this kid Lemon might pan out. Dont take it so seriously, its just a humorous quote finatic posted that I found amusing. Hopefully I get to see the kid play sometime soon and if he impresses I promise to delete it

I think that article was dripping with sarcasm.. I could be wrong though.

I think the reason we have been so unsuccessful in our qb search is because we always go with a veteran who have had mediocre careers or more recently, 3rd string qb's who shined in 1 or 2 games (Feeley and Lemon). The offensive line has also contributed to the qb woes. Im excited to see what Lemon can offer but I still think we should draft a qb. Theres nothing wrong with having a couple of good young qb's to develop.

There was some sarcasm in it, he knew he was exaggerating, but he was also telling how he truly felt...the basic points of it anyway. He does not like Rivers at all and Rivers' preseason performance did not impress him, so he graded San Diego's backup situation a D. He does like Lemon though, and thinks he should pass Rivers on the depth chart. The stuff about Montana, the puffing him up, that was all just stick-it-in-your-face kind of stuff to Chargers fans for blasting him about his D rating.

100% agreed. I think we need a QB so bad that I think we should not only draft a QB but sign one in free agency. Hell I wouldnt even mind drafting two QBs --one in the top three and one in rds 4-6. Thats how badly I think we have to get a QB.

Yeah but that doesn't make sense. In order to acquire a good quarterback you have to give him a decent chance to show his stuff, otherwise you'll just cycle him out.

As much as people talk about Mueller having gathered Aaron Brooks, Jake Delhomme, Jeff Blake, and Marc Bulger in one camp...Bulger ended up being cut and picked up by St. Louis, and Brooks' heart has been questioned ever since.

That's a good read, thanks....

Who knows if Saban / Mueller can "squeeze" anthing out of Lemon, but after reading that article{and it's not the first article to praise Lemon}, it sounds like he may be worth a look....

What's that Ratt song??..."Dangerous, but worth the risk"....

Well let's say we draft Dbrickshaw with our 1st and Whitehurst with our 3rd, then the 5th comes around and we grab Gradkowski. Additionally, in the offseason we grab Kitna. Now we have one caretaker who's better than Frerotte leading us in 2006, with Lemon, Whitehurst and Gradkowski battling it out to see who can eventually become the starting qb. Additionally we would have upgraded our offensive line tremendously. I think if we grab a qb with our first we are paying too high a price for what's available and leaving the oline a bit vulnerable. I think we cant afford to go another year without a quality qb. Granted we could get rivers or schaub and then i would still draft a qb, just one, as insurance
