Another look at the 2011 Miami Dolphins schedule

Koa, Sean, Vontae, Reshad, Clemons, Bell, Burnett and pretty much the entire D except JO and Wake needs to step up our were not going anywhere.

Red-Tough game to win
Green-Could go either way
Blue- Winnable game

IMO :ponder::

New England Patriots (loss....obviously)

Houston Texans (Win....can't see us lose 2 in a row if Henne preforms)

@ Cleveland Browns (Win...Miami should have won last year, our OC know a few things about them)

@ San Diego Chargers (Loss...trip to the west against another talented pass Offense)

@ New York Jets (Win...we are on a role beating the Jets in the Meadowlands)

Denver Broncos (Win....the game with be at home against a team that is in a bit of trouble)

@ New York Giants (Win....The Giants don't look very dangerous right now, that could change though)

@ Kansas City Chiefs (loss....Something tells me the Cheifs of last year will show up in KC)

Washington Redskins (Win....Maybe they beat the Giants, but I don't think they are for real)

Buffalo Bills (Win....We have been able to beat them In Miami so far)

@ Dallas Cowboys....(Win....Miami seems to play very well on thanksgiving, beat the Boys badly last time)

Oakland Raiders.......(Win....Raiders in Miami will be a very winnable game)

Philadelphia Eagles...(Loss....Tough game against a QB that will be tough for our defense to contain)

@ Buffalo Bills.......(Loss.....They continue to beat us in Buffalo, snow could be on the ground)

@ New England Patriots....(Win...Homer pick, can't believe the Pats will sweep us, has happened rarely)

New York Jets..........(Win.......Miami seems to play the Jets back and forth games in Miami, but Miami should prevail)

Must win? I guess you didnt watch the Chargers play like dog **** last week against a bad minnesota team that threw for 39 yds? We got a good shot to be 3-1 if we win this weekend (Which can be done)

Hey, understand me well, I will root for my team as hard as any sunday against SD. I just try to be as realist as I can but I'm with you, I hope we'll win it and we definitely can win it... In fact, every game in this schedule is winnable except maybe the NE game if Brady is not injured even then some strangers things happened...

Unfortunately for the Fins, even if they somewhat weather their brutal schedule, there's just too many teams that will finish with better records. Look at it this way:

The Chargers and Texans are virtually locks to win their divisions--yeah, anything can happen blah blah blah but reality states that those two teams are locks.
The Steelers and Ravens have cake schedules and are also locks. The Patriots are a lock for the playoffs--and probably their division...and finally, the Jets get better every year under Ryan.

I think the Dolphins are a good team, but too many other teams are just flat-out better

You may be right, but I wouldn't say teams like the Steelers or Jets are locks... In fact, I expect the Jets to take a step back... (Of course, I expected this last year, too, but their offensive woes need to catch up with them sometime)

Unfortunately, all of those other teams have the Fins down as a win for them in their mock win-loss debate on their fan boards. Let's just take it week by week here fellas.

The Steelers are an absolute lock, imo. The Jets--we'll see, but they definitely appear to be a more complete team than Miami. They're also extremely well-coached, especially on defense and special teams.

Here's the Steelers remaining schedule:

SEA
@IND
@HOU
TEN
JAX
@AZ
NEW
BAL
@CIN
@KC
CIN
CLE
@SF
STL
@CLE

Even if they get off to a slow start they'll still win their last 7 games with ease. 11-5 worst case scenario for PIT.

That almost looks like Miami's breeze schedule in 2008 when they rode the easiest schedule in franchise history along with Pennington's leadership and mistake-free play.

Miami is due for a schedule like that again sometime over the next 3 years. Then maybe, just maybe, the Dolphins can squeak out a winning record (if they stay relatively healthy without key injuries of course) whenever they get an incredibly soft schedule again

If Henne's QB rating is up around 90 like the other night, I think you can pencil us in at around 10-6, give or take a game.

If Henne's game the other night was an aberration and he plays like he did last year (QB rating around 75), I think you can pencil us in at around 6-10.

Damn, I didn't realize their schedule was such a cakewalk... Ouch. AFC South + NFC West = Playoffs... Bah.
