another perspective about the qb situation.

hypothetically, if we were to sign lavar, we would probably be left with little or no cap space to sign any other starting FA. With our limited draft picks, i could see us taking a safety or db in the first round and why not draft a 3rd round prospect to run the offense till culpepper takes over. chicago won games with thier defense and a solid running game with a 4th round rookie starting games. just my opinion on another idea to address our backup qb situation.

We need a Veteran QB who can step in and win a few games till Culpepper is ready or gets hurt durin the season..

Thats the way I feel exactly.
 
I'm almost to the point that Saban should just move on. There are other "decent" options out there and as nice as it would be to get LA, it's hardly backbreaking if they don't. The only "good" thing about staying in the hunt for him at the moment is that it probably drives up the price of whoever does eventually get him.
