I am not discounting the fact that Ricky's IQ may be high, and the fact that he is a very talented football player, but he is an idiot. A man who has the chance to be one of the greats of all time throws his career away to go on a trip around the world and smoke the ganja. Ok, fine he doesn't love football anymore whatever, he quit on the team at the worst possible time and left us screwed. He serves a four-game suspension and plays in 12 games last year, and does a very good job. Then, he screws up a fourth time and gets banned for a whole season. That's 36 games in total that he can't play because of his own stupidity and because "it isn't in his heart anymore". I'm sorry, but I'm tired of this. Two whole seasons not played, when he gave him another chance, and supported him after he quit on us. Screw that, I support the team, I love people who give their all for the team. Ricky is not one of those people who will put themselves on the line for the team. I don't care what anyone says, Ricky is stupid. Ricky gave away millions of dollars for drugs, and then failed FOUR drug tests. Come on, even Barry Bonds can get around tests. Ricky is an idiot and a true cancer of the locker room. Terrell Owens loves football and will give his all no matter how much crap he talks, but Ricky will not do that. Ricky is the true locker room cancer, and even though I think we should keep him because he is cheap talent, I have no respect for him, and agree one hundred percent with Joe Theissman.

I hope when he retires from the Dolphins, he becomes an announcer on Monday Night Football.

Do you think another team would really be interested in him given all his problems with violating the terms of the league?

dude, ricky is sabans dog. He ain't going no where....

look, Ricky is who he is. He is not here for your personal scrutiny. Judge him all you want, but what does it matter? He just a very talented guy who is living his life his way as best he can. Love to disect the lives of some of the folks on this website. I'm sure that would be most enlightening.

I agree with most of what you say here, however Ricky is a public figure. That goes along with his job. I do not believe it would be fair for any of us to be under that kind of microscope without some of the $ he has received over the years. :)

Then you should pick another team, because Ricky is going to be here for the rest of his career.

EVeryone reading this thread has to have some background on 8484...he's been an avid RW hater from the start of all this...8484, I'm not knocking you or your opinion...I also think RW has been stupid...the bottom line, is that he has made his own bed and now must lie in it...the things that have happened to him are of his own doings and I would add that RW would probably tell you the same thing. Now, there was a time, back in July 2004 when he tried to blame his problems on someone other than himself. I recall hearing him say it was "Wanny who pushed him over the edge with the number of carries" , then it was his bipolar disease that caused him to puff the magic dragon, etc...but since his return from the 'retirement' he has been forthright and upstanding, earning praise from everyone...

I was very adament that his toughest hurdle to returning (last year's return) would be to regain the trust of his coaches and teammates...Well he did that and everyone (even ZT and JT, who were against him in the beginning) came out and said that they were impressed with his work ethic and heart for the game when he returned. If he can convince his teammates that he wanted back, then he wanted back and has his heart in the right place...

As to this latest drug failure...he's also paying for that. He still has obligations to the Fins (contracturally and monetarily) so he's not going away so soon...But he's never publically said anything other than owning up to his issues.

You don't like the guy and have always been against him. That's fine and yes, he's been stupid to let his life get away from him. He hasn't, however, been in denial about the situation and understands what he did wrong to get into the situation to begin with...

On a related front, I still think the NFL HAD to uphold the suspension. They have not shown a trend to be lenient (which is why they are the model for other sports organizations...at least in the eyes of Congress) and had to defend that "model of sports organizations" reputation because the privacy of his lastest test results were compromised...

Nope not at all. Besides, Saban already said he wants him back with the Dolphins in 2007. He'll be there I'm sure of it. Nobody is going to risk it anyway...so you might as well keep him and use the same strategy in the backfield when he was here in 05 with Brown.

You just don't get it. He is on a higher level of thinking than all of us. He has been the top man in the locker room and with the coaches and the hardest worker. You spout off things about people you don't even know or never met and make definitive statements about them as people and athletes. That's not right. We only know what the media wants us to know about these athletes.

He is a great man, and intelligent man and outstanding athlete.
