at the helm with a better understanding of our players and with no rust sounds good to me. I'm really not ready to give up on him yet. He I believe can take us to a super bowl a lot faster than a rookie or another free agent. What are you thoughts?

Let me guess you consistently though that Jay Fiedler would get better and that with another year A.J. Feeley would be a star?...

No But I did see us do things that we haven't done in a long time and that was win 6 straight.

I disagree, Jay Fiedler didn't have the arm strenght that Frerotte has, therefore defenses didn't respect our ability to throw the ball downfield and put 8 man in the box...

With Gussy, defenses know he has a canon arm and they can no longer stack the line of scrimmage with 8 mofos, which afterwards open up the running game.

I'll give Frerotte One more year since I have to say that the timing with his receivers is something you learn over time....and the last 6 games, he proved he can de efficient enough to win games for us.

He's a medicore QB and always was. He's 34 years old.

I agree everyone is so use to complaining on here they don't know when to be happy.

34 means that he probably has two good years left. And like or not he will probably be our QB for the next couple years.

So, I take it you want Reggie Howard back at six million a year, too? After all, we won six straight! Everybody on the team must be great, right???

Seriously, Sage won two of those six, so right off the bat, don't give Gus credit for that.

In those six games you are talking about Gus put out THREE bad games. One a 70.3 rating and TWO in the 50's.

Gus is not the reason this team turned around. Saban knows that. Gus will be back-up or gone. If he's back, that will be another massive failure for this team at the quarterback position.

Well we would have easily lost won of those 6 to Buffalo if frerotte had not been knocked out and he was not exactly lighting up the mighty Jets. Frerotte is buttom rung and lets not ignore that he is not good just because we won some games , hell Fielder won alot of games at least he played in alot of games that we won. There is a reason that W-L record is not really a QB stat.

:sidelol:

That implies he had good years to begin with. You realize he was one of the worst quarterbacks in football this year, right? A 71 rating, 52% compl % and a jaw-droppingly bad 6.01 YPA? 28th ranked QB in football... out of 32 teams?

And like or not he will probably be our QB for the next couple years.

bet you he isn't. Saban is smarter than that. It was the first position he said he was going to upgrade in this offseason. You don't say that if you mean get a new second stringer. He wants a real quarterback and he wants it now.

We sure did, thanks to Gus being knocked out or two games and Sage for saving them for us.......

So you suggest Drafting What Cutler and you think he is going to better than a veteran for more ten years. A Rookie QB chances are is going to be a short term decline for this team no matter who we get. And even if we get a QB in the first round Frerotte will still start so get use to it.

Well in order for him to get a real QB he will have to do it via Free Agency which is fine with me I just don't want us to give up our entire draft on someone who might not be as good as Frerotte.
