Okay help me out here...we are looking into OL for the draft...so what happens with Alabi and Toledo??? When Alabi first started, coaches said he looked real good...now apparently hes seen as only a backup. Well the same was said for Vickerson (he looks like a kevin carter type)...now hes gone. I have heard that Toledo looks real good...but will he be another Alabi??

Do we rely on Toledo (OG) and Alabi (OT) to be our young OL additions...or do we draft instead?

Neither guy has played significant snaps. Waste of a couple picks.

i think atleast one of these guys will pan out and start for us ut that doest mean we dont spend picks on the oline....i think that should be our # 1 piority and the majority of our picks....with the 9 picks that we have i think 3 or 4 should be oline. it should go like this

4 oline
1qb
1wr
1te
1db
1 dline

LOL. But when Saban drafted these guys we were all excited and riding Sabans.......

Too many hypocrites on this board. Give these guys another shot. There really isnt that much depth at O Line in this years draft, and if you dont get Thomas or Brown I dont even think its worth spending a first day pick on.

Which leaves us to your question. Draft? If we do, it will be more nobodys, but because its Mueller and Cam, they will be full of potential.

Rosenhaus stated the other day that Alabi is going to be this teams starter next season. It's too soon to judge Toledo. He's only been on the team one year, and prior to injury, by most accounts was making a strong push for the starting RG spot.

Lets make one thing clear. Hudson Houck knows whether or not these guys are worth keeping around, and more importantly, whether or not they can handle starting.

Do you just mean first day tackles? Because there are like 5 Gs and one C whom I would love to see on this team if drafted in a reasonable spot.

I'd have to think Alabi's got a better shot to start than Toledo - that is of course pending the rumors of L.J. Shelton garnering offers (how that's happening I have no idea, not to mention Renaldo Hill's name out there also), but Alabi held his own against Dwight Freeney in the little bit of PT he got vs. Indy in the finale. Toledo, who knows, he's been a walking injury since college.

Round 2 I like Sears or Blalock. Mauler Guards who can kick out to tackle in an emergency. Seems like the best way to hedge some bets unless they bring in a veteran later on.

Kalil? Hes gone late first, won't be around by 40. But I do believe we should draft tackles, if anything. Not too familiar with the guards. Elaborate?

And do we need them? Especially on the first day?

From what I can remember of camp last year, Joe Toledo was fighting for the starting right guard Position late in camp until he got injured. Mind you he was a rookie last year. He is not a wasted pick, yet. Give the guy a healthy season at starter then you can say whatever you want about him. Same applies for Anthony Alabi, Manny Wright, Kevin Vickerson, Fred Evans and Jason Allen...

u heard Cam...u start from the INSIDE, then out. first piece...O-line.

He'll be looking from the outside in if he reaches for o line just to attempt at filling the holes. You take the BPA, to a certain degree, and that wont leave much room for guards during draft day 1.
