When people think of tight ends they think of big name players like Antonio Gates, Dallas Clark and Vernon Davis. I bet if I tried to tell them that Anthony Fasano is a more complete tight end than any of those three they would think I’m crazy. Good thing they leave the grading up to us because Fasano is the real deal even if he isn’t a “big” name. In the run game, Fasano could almost be seen as a third offensive tackle. Whether it’s a big-bodied defensive tackle or a speedy defensive end coming off the edge, he has shown the ability to hold his ground and dominate at the point of attack. He finished 2010 as our fourth best tight end overall. While blocking may be his strong suit, don’t sleep on him in the passing game. He doesn’t put up gaudy numbers, but he’s sure handed – in 2010 there were 41 catchable balls thrown his way and He caught 39 of them.http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/08/25/pff-preview-2011-miami-dolphins/

Fasano paired up with a competent #2 TE is a great duo (a la Fasano & Martin). The crime over the past two seasons wasn't that we didn't get anyone BETTER than Fasano, it was that we were playing the likes of Joey Haynos alongside him. Rosario is a nice addition.

lol

profootballfocus really needs to lay off the crack sometimes.

Don't put Fasano in the same sentence as Davis, Witten or Gates . . . Fasano doesn't threaten a defense. Gates doesn't need a #2 receiving TE to be a game changer. Good blocking TE's are reserved for #2 TE's. Fasano is ok as a starter, but he isn't a bonafide weapon or anything like that. He is decent . . . very upgradeable IMO.

yeah fasanos complete alright...completely average in everything pretty much

I sort of agree with the article, but I think when you can be a receiving threat like Gates and Davis you get more leeway in the blocking department. I don't put Clark in there because I think he is a byproduct of the system and Manning. Not to say he isn't good, but he really doesn't have to do much run blocking in Indy.

Fasano is a very good receiver for a blocking tight end. He certainly can't compete with the guys mentioned above, but none of those guys can block like Fasano either.

b/t the best te in football is jermichael finley... game set match

fasanos an overrated in line blocker...he's not dominant in line at all...i lmao when i hear people say he's awesome with awesome sauce in line...i don't see it...and he's a dump truck down the seam as a receiver

I'll take Vernon Davis as my TE . . . u get him a QB like Aaron Rodgers that guy is gonna explode. Unmatched athletically in the TE world and a excellent blocker also.

vernon davis is probably right as best all around...but i don't think he's finleys level as an actual receiving weapon...finleys the truth

Fasano can't beat fricking aj hawk or James Harrison in man-to-man coverage so I don't want to hear about this complete tight end bull. The dude runs like a 4.8. There is nothing complete about that, at all.
