From www.phinmaniacs.com:

Anthony Johnson, defensive tackle from LSU, was a pretty good player at the college level. However, due to a failed drug test at the NFL Combine, he went from being a projected middle round draft pick to not being drafted at all. Leading up to the draft, the Miami Dolphins showed some interest in him and while they didn’t select him with an official draft pick, they didn’t wait long to sign him after as an undrafted rookie free agent. Now, some are saying that the Dolphins could have gotten a steal after signing him. Johnson, who went back to Louisiana recently to help out with a youth football clinic, answered some questions after practice and gave some insight to his approach and goals in the NFL so far.

“It’s a blessing. Throughout the whole process, things haven’t gone the way I necessarily wanted them to go but I couldn’t be happier to be a part of such a great organization with the Miami Dolphins. I’m going to be the best that I can possibly be. It’s been great playing behind Randy Starks and Cameron Wake and learning from them,” he said.

Johnson isn’t the only player drafted out of LSU. He is joined by wide receiver Jarvis Landry, who was selected in the second round and Johnson had nothing but praise for him.

"Jarvis is the man and he's my brother. We have Hartline and Wallace but Jarvis is a star in the making. People need to be looking out for him as the rookie of the year."

The Dolphins are stacked on the defensive line but Johnson could play a huge role in the coming years with Jared Odrick in his contract year and Starks only on a two-year deal. If Johnson can prove that he can handle the NFL at a high level, he might find a spot on the Dolphins roster for years to come.

cant wait until the pads come on.a we start to separate the boys from the men.i really think he.has a real shot at the final roster.like i have said in previous posts i believe at least 8 or 9 rookies make this team.and Johnson will be one

I'm excited about Anthony Johnson, seems like he really could be a steal! Also really excited about Landry, his toughness and catching ability remind me of hjnes ward,if he got even in the same ballpark as ward we'd all be ecstatic. Can't wait to actually see him play, so far all I've seen of him is his ridiculous highlight catches. A couple of which seemed nearly impossible.

Ya his hands are natural glue. Can't teach that kind of stuff...poor Wallace.

I like Anthony Johnson but feel that he is in a dogfight just to make the roster. It sounds like lots of talent is available to fill out the D-line - AJ Francis (who is bigger and stronger from last season), Terrence Fede (athletic DE), Isaako Aaitui and Garrison Smith (looked really good so far) are also strong contenders with Johnson for the remaining spot and there will at least one on the Practice Squad.
Why did Miami use the 7th round draft pick on Fede, when Johnson was available? Kacy Rodgers has a track record of developing D-line talent but his immediate challenge is identifying the pick of the litter. We can't say it very often but this may be a situation where we are loaded with raw talent and players who get cut may succeed on other teams.

Not the exact situation, but Tony McDaniel was a significant contributor in that Seattle rotation.
