Absolutely loved what I saw from him tonight. No issues in pass protection and very few in the run game. Shotgun snaps were all a non issue and only one under center miscue. I also loved how he doesn't do the "pouncey head bob" right before he snaps it giving the defense the cue when the snap is coming. Rashede Hagemen threw him down in frustration one play and he got right back up and in his face. Pouncey could very well be out of Miami next season and maybe warming the bench this season for Steen as well.

I'd trade pouncey...most overrated player on the team.

I thought he did okay as well.

if he can consistently play above average (maybe even just average in general) I'm all for moving on from pouncey.. Maybe a move to guard (which has never worked well) but tunsil eventually has to take over at LT. Pouncey's contract doesn't look AS bad as a lg

He did OK for a backup center who is inexperienced at the position. I feel a lot better about Pouncey missing time now.

Mike Pouncey is going to be our starting center this year, though.

Steen hasnt caught on anywhere at guard. I think he found his position being a center. I really like what i have seen from him this pre season. The position doesnt look to big or confusing to him. Very strong at point of attack. If the line is humming i dont nessesarilly see pouncy walking right back into his job. Especially if were a month or two into the season.

While he will obviously play ahead of Steen, just not convinced Pouncey will stay healthy all year, of course we could say that about alot of the O lineman.

Looks like Douglas could be out of a job though.

Agreed. Anyone that believes Pouncey will not be our starting center is fooling themselves. I am very pleased that we have a good backup center with an attitude. He has done well at guard during earlier preseason games, so we have one more piece for a good offensive line group. As my earlier topic stated, I am starting to be bullish on the offensive line group!

Steen was solid, had a lot of help inside, but did see him handle Grady Jarrett one on one a few times and held his own. He definitely has a roster spot going forward and (as some have said) losing Pouncey for any extended time may not be a disaster.

Pouncey is incredibly overrated and if Steen keeps up the level he played at last night, I want him starting. Period. I don't give a **** what Mike Pouncey's name is or how much money he makes.

The Pouncey boys are vastly overrated because they can pull occasionally. A competent C makes the guards look better and Steen did just that last night. I've never understood the hype surrounding pouncey so here's to hoping Steen keeps playing like last night and improving each week. If so I'd deal pouncey by the trade deadline.
