Easy question. Is it too early to panic getting a legit backup (for at least the 1st 4 weeks?) Do we wait to see what comes available? Or,do nothing at all with our current runningbacks?

I'd like to bring in Antwain. He actually looked pretty good the other night. He's a big back and you could plug him in 7-10 times a game to spell Brown until Week 4 when morris comes back.

I'd also like to see what Fred Beasely can do as the tailback. Didn't he play some tailback for the fortyniners?

Beasley? I think it will be barnes. And no, A.Smith is not the answer, not ever for 4 weeks. We'll be fine. Minor change of pace, Barnes plug in.

Smith is over the hill and I think we will let Gerald Riggs Jr. and another RB go and pick up someone who gets cut

If they do get another RB Smith would be the best (cheapest/temporary) choice. Unless they want a more permanent #2, this wouldn't be all bad. He's a free agent, would play cheap, and has experience. If I recall, he doesn't fumble and knows how to block. On the other hand, he's old and doesn't know our offense, so he would be limited on what he could do. Riggs looked OK so far, and both FB's are pretty good, so I'm not sure we need him, but he would be a cheap 4 week investment.

If they are looking for an upgrade at the #2 spot even when Sammy comes back, he's not the answer, not sure if that answer is even out there now, unless Nick makes a substantial trade offer somewhere.

Pass on Smith, see what Saban picks up but I liked what I saw from KayJay and Riggs the other night.

Every time I see Heath Evans run for 10-15 yds for New England, I wonder what was on Sabans mind when he cut him.
He looks like Mike Alstott five yrs ago. I realize that New England O Line is blocking better than ours right now, but Evans still is knocking people over head on. Maybe he didn't try that hard at camp and now knows that every play he may be looking for work. It's a shame that we didn't get that out of him while he was here.
Can one of our FB's, Beasley or Barnes fill that role here. Can we keep them both? Why not try it and see? Line both heavy backs up on Goal line and see how it goes..

why are you typing in caps very annoying to read.... Also I think we are fine as is.
